Woman Scream 2023 Call for Submissions for Women Poetry ( Anthology )

Woman Scream Festival, as part of the institutions that collaborate with the initiatives of Action Coalitions for Generation Equality by UN Women, opens its second international call for submission for female poetry. The Woman Scream (Grito de Mujer®) cause celebrates its 13th anniversary of creation since 2011, for this reason, we will be creating a special poetry anthology under the theme “Mother of the Earth”. A compilation of poetry in tribute to farmland women and their rights and an homage to the hundreds of women activists who have raised their voices, suffered abuse or lost their lives standing up for environmental rights.

Woman Scream in its altruistic project with social mission that unites voices of the world against women violence through poetry and arts and it’s celebrated in over 30 countries during the month of march, to raise awareness about women/girls’ rights, self-esteem and abuse prevention.

The submitted poems will be selected based on quality, relevance to the subject and originality. We hope to receive powerful women voices to scream of behalf those who cannot speak up or have lost their own.

This book will be edited by the Rosado Fucsia editorial project, and will be only available for printing on demand through Amazon.com. If anyone wishes to contribute to our cause by acquiring a copy as a form of donation once the book is release, please feel free to do so, but purchasing it’s not mandatory to participate.

We will have no contact with the submitting poets, except the chosen ones. The list of selected poets will be published in our page www.womanscreamfestival.com and Facebook Page. Please follow WS Festival for further details.

"Out of Wounds: Art Uncovering Gender Violence"

Gender violence is a direct correlation to gender inequality; a social issue deriving from gender norms, and distinctions or assumptions made on biology. Gender violence includes sexual assault, rape, partner violence, sexual harassment, stalking, sex trafficking, and prostitution. Many people around the world experience a form of gender violence, with the majority being women.

 “Out of Wounds: Art Uncovering Gender Violence,” is a platform to allow those who have, or have known someone who has experienced gender violence, to artistically express themselves and their views.  We encourage you to join us on this journey to gender equality, which aims to use art to uncover the multiple forms the patriarchal system uses to oppress women.

This call is open to all women artists regardless of their age, location, education, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.

Culturally Arts Collective is a nonprofit organization for arts education, outreach, and exhibitions based in the United States. We strive to promote a culture of artistic innovation upholding the academic integrity of the arts, uplifting contemporary expression, and challenging the status quo.

We are currently looking for National and International artists to submit works for the upcoming call: "Out of Wounds: Art Uncovering Gender Violence". Emerging and mid-career artists are invited to submit their 2-d work and be considered to join our strong artistic community by exhibiting in our 360-degree 3-D gallery at the Milostka Center for Exhibitions.

Chasing the Bluebird – online art exhibition

Applications are now open for our online exhibition “Chasing the Bluebird”. The Bluebird has a strong and positive symbolism in the spiritual world. It symbolizes the essence of life and beauty, joy, fulfillment, prosperity, and good luck. The blue color is a symbol of peace, honesty, and contentment. We are looking for artworks themed around hope, renewal, and a sign of an end to some struggle.  Artworks that are inspired by the Bluebird – in a literal or abstract way. From hazy dreams to quest for higher realities, from symbol of good cheer to a reminder to enjoy and appreciate nature’s beauty. Imagery that lifts our spirits. Artworks that remind us to open our eyes and appreciate the world around us.

- Open to all artists 18+

- All visual art mediums (except video) are allowed

- Submitted artwork files must be labeled with the artist’s name and title: Name_Lastname_Title.jpg

- We accept .jpg only. Size limit per image: 3 MB. Images MUST be clear and properly cropped

- Artists may submit up to 4 works

- $20 application fee. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee acceptance.
