99 Future Blue-Chip Artists 2023 is the latest Open Call launched by Artsted.com aimed at all artists working in traditional mediums and adopting digital and innovative tools to expand their practice.

 

The Open Call arises from the urgent need that the contemporary art market has to find ways to be able to support a new generation of up-and-coming artists, while bringing their vision to a wider audience of collectors and art lovers.

For its first-ever edition, 99 Future Blue-Chip Artists will take the form of a printed and curated hardcover edition, which will be distributed at the largest international art fairs, with the official launch scheduled for Art Basel Miami in December 2022.

10.000,00 € in exhibition fees for a group exhibition that will take place in the spring of 2023. (fees: adv, dedicated meetings with collectors, studio visits, shipping costs, location, branded content on Artsted editorial and social media channels). Every winner for the 1st tier will benefit from the Premium Artsted subscription for 12 months. ​

 

2nd tier prizes:

8.000,00 € in adv bonus and promotional content on social media platforms and on the Blog (approx. 5 dedicated posts over the course of 12 months). Free consultations with our team experts regarding portfolio review, content strategy, exhibition opportunities, residency programs, and more. Following on from our successful ‘Pause for Thought’ Exhibition back in May, Original Magazine are collaborating with the Open Eye Gallery based in Liverpool, for our latest exhibition: ‘I Used to Think…Then I Thought’.

From the powerful reactions from our ‘Pause for Thought’ open evening and throughout the week of the exhibition; we want to continue the talks that surround mental health and wellbeing.

Mental health and wellbeing, impacts us all in many different ways and for this reason, we want to continue sharing works that encourages everyone to have honest and open discussions in a safe and creative space. When talking with the team at the Open Eye Gallery, they shared the same vision and passion. This is how our collaboration came to be.

This opportunity is open to photographers of all levels; students, emerging photographers, and professionals…WE WANT TO SEE YOUR WORK :)

For the selected photographers, your work will be displayed at the Open Eye Gallery on their digital screens in the entrance to the gallery from the 15th - 29th September 2022.

In Spring explores women in their entirety, in their own words. This online exhibit is centered on the themes of growth, change, and identity, and will showcase the work of female creators and artists only. We look forward to reviewing your submissions. Guest Curator:

Alayo Akinkugbe graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA in History of Art in 2021, and she is the founder of the Instagram platform, @ABlackHistoryOfArt, which highlights Black artists, sitters, curators and thinkers from Art History and the present day. She is interested in all periods of art history, but her aim is to continually platform emerging and forgotten Black artists from all over the world, working towards a diversification of the way art is taught and presented in the West, encouraging a more global and inclusive approach to art and art history.

"PILOTENKUECHE" is an international art program based in Germany's new art capital Leipzig. The independent project is run by artists to support and empower artists.

 

The International Art Program invites Artists from around the world. The studio is located in an romantic, remodeled old barbed wire factory. With its exposed bricks large windows, high ceiling, and above all underfloor heating, this environment is inspiring. Artists have 24 hour studio access in the 465m² communally used space. Our concept strives to create a communal space that can lead to experimental collaboration and discourse between participants, as well as with the greater Leipzig community.

Our program is multi-faceted. Firstly, it includes visiting artist studios, exhibition spaces, project spaces, exhibits, and going on gallery and museum tours. Secondly, a preview exhibition or open studio event presenting initial work, takes place mid-way through the residency. Furthermore, scheduled consultations and critiques, culminating in a final group exhibition. During the final exhibition, the studio becomes our exhibition space. 

The primary languages in use are English and German. 

The artists receive all documentation necessary to apply for funding and the visa processes. If required, the project assists with additional individual reference letters. In Addition each accepted artist is offered a partial stipend in kind, provided by PILOTENKUECHE. Furthermore we maintain engagements with several friends, to get in contact with the Leipzig art scene and increase the artists visibility.

We are an independent, artist–run residency program with the aim to support artists and connect them to the city in a way that is unique to each artist. For to cover our expenses and to enable us to work, we have to charge a fee for participation. For more information check our cost breakdown

Cost

  • participation fee: 1900 EUR / 3 months per artist, total costs. this also which includes the 
  • prior payment of 450 EUR per artist required to hold their place on the program. this payment is only refundable by cancellation in writing 3 months before the start date of the residency. otherwise it goes towards the total fee)
  • the fee covers the studio & the participation cost
  • travel costs, art materials & living accommodation are additional

 

EXPECTATIONS

Participating artists are expected to participate in the program objectives, contribute to a collective enterprise, and be open to working with others.

We organize two exhibitions in interesting venues, which are non-obligatory, but they increase the artist's visibility, would be sad not to take advantage of it.

ELIZA ALI, FOUNDER, DIRECTOR, EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Eliza is an artrepreneur and thought leader for women in the art industry whose goal is to empower women in the art business and beyond through luxury content, art exhibitions, and social enterprise. She has cultivated many relationships throughout the art world and creative industries, including high-powered women at art advisory firms, auction houses, museums, and galleries. Eliza started her career at Hamptons Magazine and worked at an entertainment law firm where she assisted NYC’s top attorneys and high-profile clients in the art and film industries. Instead of going to law school, she pursued her passion for creativity and became a self-proclaimed art dealer, creative director, and digital strategist. Prior to launching her company, she freelanced for art advisors in New York, worked in advertising for a French magazine, and curated art shows in Tribeca and the Chelsea Gallery District. Eliza received her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Art History from Mount Holyoke College, and studied French in Montpellier, France.
