Calling all pastel artists!

The Pastel Society seeks the best in contemporary pastel and dry media, combining technical skill with creative originality for the Society's 125th Exhibition.

Submission deadline: Friday 24 November 2023 at 12 noon.

The Society accepts all types of pastel, chalk or crayon including soft pastels, hard pastels, oil pastels, ink pastels, water-based pastels, cont crayons or sticks, sanguine, and similar dry mediums including charcoal and pencil. Mixed media works are welcome where pastel or another dry media is the primary medium.

Gallery Ring PASTEL & COLOURED PENCIL Online Juried Art Exhibition

Gallery Ring is excited to announce the 2nd PASTEL & COLOURED PENCIL contest!  All artworks entered must be created with coloured pencil or pastel of any kind.  The subject matter and style is the choice of the artist.

The fee is $20 US for 1-3 pieces.  The deadline to submit work is Wednesday May 31st, 2023.

Gallery Ring "PASTEL AND COLOURED PENCIL" Online Juried Art Exhibition

Gallery Ring is excited to announce its first contest devoted to a particular medium.  All artworks entered must be created with coloured pencil or pastel of any kind.  The subject matter is the choice of the artist.

The fee is $20 US for 1-3 pieces.  The deadline to submit work is Monday, February 28th, 2022. 

The Pastel Society Call For Entries

Artists are invited to submit work for exhibition alongside members of The Pastel Society at their 123rd Annual Exhibition 2022. The Pastel Society seeks the best in contemporary dry media, combining traditional skills with creative originality for their annual exhibition. The Society accepts pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, pencil, conté, sanguine, or any dry media.

All work must be submitted online by Friday 3 December 2021, 12 noon. Pre-selection from online entries will take place, after which pre-selected works should be delivered to Mall Galleries, London, for final selection.

Derwent Award - £1,000 worth of products

Alfred Teddy Smith and Zsuzsi Roboz Prize - A major award of £5,000, bequeathed by distinguished member of The Pastel Society, Zsuzsi Roboz (1939-2012), presented to a young artist, aged 35 or under, for traditional skills used in an original way. Pastels, oil pastels, charcoal, pencil, conte, sanguine, or any dry media are all acceptable.
