Sea (Global & Online Exhibition) - Open Call for All Visual Artists

ST. LOUIS ART GALLERY OXFORD invites all visual artists from around the world to submit work for our 9th exhibition in Oxford, UK.

Eligibility:

Theme: Sea

Work Medium: 2D Works - All Visual Arts

UK & International Artists

· All works must be artist’s original works and copyright.

· Do not submit captured images.

· Provide a short description of your work (250 words maximum).

· Provide your artist statement (300 words maximum), CV and your website link.

· Provide your work price and please state NFS if your work is not for sale.

· This open call is only for the online exhibition.

· We only respond the appropriate applicators. If you have any inquiries please feel free to email us.

Issue 1

For our first issue, we will be looking for rich, atmospheric fiction, non-fiction, poetry and visual artwork about the sea which will captivate our readers’ imagination. Possible themes include, but are not limited to:

  • Sea creatures, mythology and weird tales
  • Storms and shipwrecks
  • Dangers of the deep
  • Voyages of discovery
  • The call of the sea
  • Surprising and forgotten history

We are looking for photography, illustrations and drawings of high artistic standards which are in keeping with our style and compliment the literary side, so please read our requirements for both.

You may submit no more than three images at once. We cannot guarantee all will be used if successful.

Sea of Change Mid-Atlantic 2020

The Virginia Beach Art Center invites you to submit to our a showcase of all media artwork from the Mid-Atlantic states.  There is beauty in all the waterways that surround us, but our climate is changing and perhaps our lives as well.   Artists from South Carolina to Pennsylvania celebrate our present and warn of our future.

The exhibition is juried by Gary Ryan, Executive Direcetor of the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, and features an award total of $2000! The opening reception is June 5th, 6-8 pm.

Sailing Residencies with Sail Britain

Sail Britain is a unique project exploring the British coastline through research, the creative arts and engagement with communities. We explore the sea and the coastline from multidisciplinary viewpoints, highlighting the cultural importance of our relationship with the ocean and the connection between ecological issues and society.
