SPACE Open Call (FREE)

AVE22 MetaGallery would likes to invite artists to take part in the “Space” open call.

OVERVIEW

April 12, 1961 - the date when Yury Gagarin became the first human to journey into outer space . To many people, many generations this flight was quite symbolic as it showed that dreams could come true. The dream to fly, fly high, higher than birds, than anything on our planet.

We would like to invite you to share your artworks dedicated to space. Planets, stars, galaxies - real and imaginary. Starships, futuristic cities, aliens - whatever we could dream of - again, real and imaginary.

The Inevitable Ether – A Residency Award from Greywood Arts & the National Space Centre

Greywood Arts & the National Space Centre invite expressions of interest from artists working in any visual, installation, or time-based medium who engage with themes of outer space, technology, and speculative futures in their work. This six-week residency from October 15 - November 25 is an incredible opportunity for an artist whose practice would benefit from observing the workings of a busy satellite groundstation campus before immersing themselves in the creative environment of The Residency at Greywood Arts.

The award includes an opportunity for the selected artist to showcase their research and creative process, and to experiment with installation of work from the residency at the National Space Centre, located near Midleton, Co. Cork.

THE FOURTH INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF THE STUDENT SHORT FILMS "PERVIY!" (FIRST)

The 4th Gagarin.doc festival is dedicated to digital reality  and is held in Saratov in April 6th-12th.
The "digital format" today is becoming the new universal code of humanity, replacing the text. In a way, "digital"
is a new space, infinitely alluring and charmingly dangerous. An important part of the festival program is the competition
of the student short films “First!” which is held since 2016. Its mission is to initiate a conversation on science and space
topics by means of cinema and contemporary art, discussion of problems of popularization of scientific knowledge,
building a dialogue between science and art for a more complete picture of the structure of the world.
