Weeklong Residency in Philadelphia

The Iron Factory is offering free weeklong residencies for individual artists or companies – local or visiting – for up to four people. Both residency options include accommodations in our 2nd floor loft and access to our 3rd floor studio from 8am-5pm.

These applications are for artists applying for a free "Visiting Artist Residency." Artists can also book a residency or nightly stays. See our residency rates for more information.

For those who do not receive a residency, the application fee can be used toward a future rental at The Iron Factory.

Who should apply?

Istanbul Fringe Festival

Istanbul Fringe Festival is looking for new and experimental works by local and international artists. The festival will bring together art works and workshops produced in the disciplines of theater, dance and performance during 5 days in September 2019. This first edition offers both local and international artists a platform to showcase their work in several stages located on European and Asian side of Istanbul. This is a great opportunity for artists to meet and interact between themselves and the audience, exchange ideas while discovering a new artistic network.

The 1st edition of Istanbul Fringe Festival will also host a “Nordic Day” where artists from nordic countries will perform their shows.

What we offer:

Scenic Artist Practicum

Under the direction and mentorship of Banff Centre’s head scenic artist, practicum participants will learn classic and modern scenic art ideas, processes, tools, and techniques.

Participants will interpret designer information and translate it into high quality finished surfaces as required for each production, in communication and collaboration with other Banff Centre departments.

The techniques, styles, materials, and finishes explored will vary due to the nature of the designs. Practicums will also be responsible in part for the organization and maintenance of the Paint department’s tools, materials, and spaces (office, workshop, and studio).

What does the program offer?
