The LINE series initiates an exploration of formal metamorphosis.  It focuses on that ambiguous realm where different concepts are juxtaposed.  It is more radical and more adventurous because it is suspended between sculpture and forms that may just conceivably be useable as furniture.

This approach is also suspended between the realms of function and ergonomics, on one hand, and sculpture on the other.  The viewer is compelled to reassess patterns of movement, expectations, and behavior and to react by forming new interpretations of common day-to-day activities.

By manipulating the fluidity of forms, the relationship of surfaces, and by challenging our shared expectations that, for example, a chair looks like a chair, the dynamics of the interaction between objects, space, social interaction, formal norms are challenged.   This state of suspended belief is achieved through the articulation of movement, the meshing of ground and object, light and shadow, reflection and refraction, as well as the engagement of the space around the object.

The aim is to stimulate response to the juxtaposition of dynamic elemental forms and specific and designated social norms.  Their zone of influence is spatial and cerebral.
