Contemporary Finnish and Sami art play an important role in the choices of artists and works in the Kakslauttanen Art Gallery. The gallery is located in the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, which has long been known for its environmental art. The annual international art symposium “Arctic Art Week” in Kakslauttanen has left its mark on the resort area: nature walkers can spot around one hundred and fifty sculptures. Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort has also launched an artists-in-residence programme for artists seeking inspiration in the unique nature of Lapland.
