- About -

Jhanée Rowena Finlayson is a Bahamian artist, who began studying fine art at the age of five under the guidance of Sue Bennett-Williams in Nassau, Bahamas. She later continued her studies with Andrew Gregg at Trinity College School in Ontario, Canada. Over the years she has broadened her craft in various artistic mediums including clay, wood, paint and digital media. This summer, she received her Bachelors degree with Honors in Fine Art from Leeds Arts University, Leeds England. Her work focuses on the theme of ‘personal psychoanalysis’ which is inspired by the test created by Swiss psychologist, Hermann Rorschach. By focusing on the combination of figures, space and veiling, she is able to create the sense of ambiguity in her work. This permits the audience to have the ability to form their own narrative, and individually compare with the narrative that inspires her body of work.
