The Dark Side | Second Edition | Call For Artists!

Does a latent shadow reside in the heart of artistic creation and within the souls of the artists themselves?

If any figure could parallel the introspective solitude of a monk, it is the visual artist. Though it may stir debate, let us reflect. Consider the profound solitude, the palpable stillness of the studio where silent hours merge into days, as the artist labors and broods over their craft, fervently hoping for the world to awaken to the brilliance of their ideas, to feel the pulse of their passion embedded in their work.

Open Call for Artists

“The space we love is unwilling to remain permanently enclosed. It deploys and appears to move elsewhere without difficulty; into other times, and on different planes of dream and memory.” – Gaston Bachelard, “House and Universe,” The Poetics of Space

Call for sonic experiments in text: BLURT

blurt is an experimental platform supporting artists to develop text-based works for performance and live-to-air broadcast on RTM.FM. In this testing-site for testing text, TACO! invites artists to consider, with us, radio broadcast as an expanded form of publishing. We perform to publish, which is to say, to make public. And our moment of thinking is live on air! TACO! is seeking proposals for sonic experiments in text: aural encounters, vernacular enquiries, conversations, radio plays and other weird waves. TACO! will support four artists or artist groups to develop and test work over a four-week research and development period, over the months of April and May. This will culminate in blurt, a public performance series at TACO! and broadcast live on RTM.FM.

Movies for the Apocalypse

OPEN CALL!!!

Send us your shorts (under 20min) of any genre on the theme of apocalypse (the current one, theme can be creatively interpreted). We are selecting films for a post-apocalyptic time capsule, to show people of the future what our lives were like before the (maybe) impending Big Collapse.

Low/no budget films will be prioritised.

We are accepting submissions on a rolling basis from now until April. In-progress work and/or proposals will also be considered! If you have something you think works, you can DM either of us on instagram ( @gisela.mulwinda  or @agathapple ), or email us at agatha.scaggiante@gmail.com.

The selected films will screen at Movies for the Apocalypse this May in the SET Woolwich Vault!
