13th Annual Juried Art Show

Now a nation-wide open call, the Riverviews Artspace Annual Juried Art Show has been a tradition for 13 years. Artists of any media and subject matter, from any US State can enter 3 works for consideration to the chosen juror, Elsabé Dixon.

The show is open to artists living in the U.S. Artists may submit a maximum of three entries in any medium and concerning any subject matter. Work must be original and must have been completed in the last five years. 2D work must be ready to hang with the appropriate hardware. 3D work must come with display instructions. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of work and any associated cost. Deadline to enter is September 16th, 2021 at 5pm EST.

Emerging Artist Series at Riverviews Artspace

The Emerging Artist Series at Riverviews Artspace is an initiative to assist up and coming local artists are looking to expand their CV and knowledge of exhibiting their artwork. Each emerging artist will receive an exhibit in our Rosel H. Schewel Gallery and Theater and work with our curatorial staff to plan and execute the showcase of their artwork. We define “emerging” as those early in their professional artistic careers, who may wish to learn more about gallery representation, building an extensive exhibition history and awards, or sustaining an income derived from art sales and commissions.  

12th Annual Juried Art Show

The 2020 juror is Jeffry Cudlin. Washington, DC-based artist, critic, and curator Jeffry Cudlin serves as Professor of Curatorial Studies and Practice at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore. Since 2011, Cudlin has worked with students on hands-on, real-world projects in MICA's first-in-the-nation MFA in Curatorial Practice program founded by visionary curator George Ciscle. 

The Annual Juried Art Show is open to artists living in the U.S.
Each artist may submit up to 3 entries in any media and any subject matter.
Work must be original and have been completed in the last five years.
Entry fee is $35. This fee is nonrefundable.

BIG INK visits Riverviews Artspace

BIG INK is hosting a weekend of monumental woodblock printing at Riverviews Artspace in Lynchburg, VA. We invite artists interested in carving a woodblock of at least 24 by 36 inches to print with us!

First, artists must submit a design for consideration by August 3rd. Those selected will have two months to carve a woodblock based on their submission. We then meet at Riverviews and help each other print on BIG INK’s giant mobile printing press, The Big Tuna.

It’s free to submit; accepted applicants pay $300. Participation includes the following benefits:

Craddock-Terry Gallery 2021 Exhibition Applications

The Craddock-Terry is a 2,500 square foot, street-level contemporary exhibition space in Lynchburg, Virginia’s revitalized downtown. The Exhibition Selection Committee considers artists for both solo and group exhibitions. Artists who work in any media, 2D, 3D, performance, and video artwork can apply. Artists submitting an installation should have a complete, site-specific proposal in mind.

 

Call for Entries: 11th Annual Juried Art Show

RIVERVIEWS ARTSPACE IS LOOKING FOR ARTISTS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL JURIED ART SHOW.

The 2019 juror is Joseph Krakora, the former Executive Officer for External and International Affairs at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC for nearly three decades. Artists can enter artwork in any media and concerning any subject matter. The entry fee is $35 for 3 artwork submissions.

ENTRIES DUE BY 5:00PM ON SEPTEMBER 17TH, 2019

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place chosen by the juror, as well as a People’s Choice Award that will be voted on by gallery visitors throughout the month of November. Prizes are as follows:
1st - $1,000
2nd - $500
3rd - $250
People’s Choice - $100
