"The Art of the Poem"

The Art of the Poem

This exhibition allows artists to interpret words visually and see a poem as a visual creation that is no different than a photo, painting, or drawing. Poetry draws emotions in a dramatic and impactful way through its use of words to display visual stories. The artist’s reaction to the poem will allow a visual collaboration between the literary and the visual arts.

The exhibit’s goal is to allow the artist to create art that is an interpretation of the raw emotions from reading a specific poem (See below).

International Art Competition Blue

Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 2nd "Blue" Online Art Competition for the month of October. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. The theme may include any work with interpretation of the color blue or shades of blue as a prominent or secondary color. All visual art mediums are acceptable (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital, prints, fiber art, collage or installation art) except sound and video art. First place will be on the poster of the show. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. $15 for 2 images, $28 for 4, and $40 for up to 6 images. Deadline: October 20, 2022.

Monochrome Art Contest

Grey Cube Gallery proudly presents the second Monochrome online art contest for the month of October 2022. Artists from around the world are welcome to submit. Entries must include the black and white or shades of gray as the primary focus, but also the range of a single color such as sepia, green, blue, red, yellow. All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. All winning artists will receive a digital award certificate. Winning artwork (Best of Show) will be on the poster of the show. $16 for 2 images of artwork, $30 for 4, $42 for 6, and $50 for up to 8. Deadline: October 13, 2022.

International Art Competition Painting & Photography

Contemporary Art Room Gallery is proud to announce their 3rd "Painting & Photography" Online Art Competition for the month of September. This is an international competition and artists from around the world are welcome to submit their work. This is the open subject theme. The Gallery will accept entries in 2 different categories (painting and photography). Other visual art mediums are not allowed. $15 for 2 images, $28 for 4, and $58 for up to 10. Deadline: September 15, 2022.

Entries may include any work related to the Patterns theme (lines, shapes, textures). All visual art mediums (except video and sound) are allowed. 2023 Inbreak Residency

ABOUT

The Inbreak Residency is a virtual co-learning and making environment that promotes a collective exploration of the intersections of art, faith, and race in the United States. This residency is for artists who are looking for a collaborative environment to generate community-focused projects, who are seeking the next step in their artistic development, and/or who want to grow in the area of creative leadership.
