Open Call: Superfine! Art Fair | SF 2020

Superfine! Art Fair is coming to San Francisco for four days of connecting with collectors, selling art, and market-building at the country’s top artist-driven fair. Business-minded artists, curators, collectives, and galleries may apply to join us at Fort Mason Center Gallery 308. An easy, efficient exhibition guided by our expert curators culminates in 4-8,000 pre-qualified future art buyers joining you for the four days of the fair, and 25% of these making a significant art purchase. Expect to be surrounded by not only the best of emerging contemporary art, but the top marketing minds in the industry as you learn the secrets of art sales success in the San Francisco art marketplace. 

Note: Superfine! takes no commission on any artwork sold, either in person at the fair or via our online E-Fair.

Fair Dates: Wednesday, February 27 - March 1, 2020

Application Deadline: Final deadline February 12, 2020. However applications are reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis, so don’t delay. Spaces will be sold out before January and all booth sizes and configurations are in limited quantity.

Mural Honoring HIV Long Term Survivors

Openhouse invites artists to submit qualifications and ideas for the design and implementation of a mural project at the Openhouse Community Center in San Francisco, the heart of a new, long-awaited housing complex for LGBTQ Seniors. The mural will honor and celebrate HIV Long Term Survivors, and create a welcoming environment for community members and visitors.

stARTup Small Works Art Fair: Call for Artists

Small Works San Francisco is a "tabletop" style art fair in an industrial warehouse setting where select artists can show small-scale works in all mediums. The fair runs July 19-21, 2019 at the Midway. Small Works offers an excellent opportunity for artists to experience stARTup Fair in a smaller, more approachable framework that taps into a unique collector market.

The application deadline is May 12th. Artists can apply online with a resume, bio, proposal and 10 images. Up to 60 artists will be selected to exhibit in the new space. Located in San Francisco’s trendy Dogpatch neighborhood, the warehouse is within walking distance of Minnesota Street Project, McEvoy Foundation for the Arts, and the Museum of Craft and Design.

College Artists: Art of Painting in the 21st Century

The Art of Painting Conference and Exhibition is near, on March 8 – 9, 2019! This two-day conference was conceived to give a vast expanse of artists an opportunity to foster conversation about contemporary painting. This stands as the unifying principle of our conference and exhibition. Furthermore, the diverse wealth of artwork will provide fresh insights into a classic, yet ever-evolving medium.

Many prestigious artists and critics have participated in past conferences, including Philip Pearlstein, Enrique Chagoya, Deborah Oropollo, Guy Diehl and Peter Selz have participated in past conferences. This year’s renowned presenters include Amer Kobaslija, Dean Fisher, Dorian Allworthy, Glenn Brill & Tom Colcord.

All college students that were enrolled in school in 2018 can apply, from any California colleges or universities. The artwork needs to be delivered or shipped to the gallery by March 1st. If accepted, you and a guest can attend the two-day conference at no cost. Please confirm via email that you will attend. There will be a Purchase Award for Best in Show and a second and third award.

2-3 sentences about you and your work

Information about the painting (title, year, medium, dimensions, and retail price). You will receive 50% of the retail price upon sale.

Each Painting must be wired on the back and ready to hang. We accept paintings on canvas, wood, and/or board. No works on paper are accepted.

stARTup Art Fair SF 2019: Call for Artists

stARTup Art Fair San Francisco is a contemporary art fair for independent artists.

The fair runs April 26-28, 2019 at the Hotel Del Sol and takes place at the same time as the Art Market SF gallery fair at nearby Fort Mason.

Hotel Del Sol is a unique 1950’s motor lodge turned boutique "California beach house" style hotel, located in San Francisco’s scenic and happening Marina neighborhood. The De Sol is a perfect setting for an immersive contemporary art experience filled with artist exhibition rooms, provocative discussions about today's art market, and interactive public art projects.

Applications for stARTup Art Fair San Francisco will be accepted through February 12, 2019. Those selected from the open application process will each take over a hotel room for the course of three days to present a solo show of their work. Through its democratic online application, artists get the opportunity to have their work reviewed by an impressive Selection Committee with a diverse range of art world professionals:

Small Works offers an excellent opportunity for artists to experience stARTup Fair in a smaller, more approachable framework that taps into a unique collector market. The deadline to apply is August 5th. Artists can apply online with a resume, bio, proposal and 10 images. Up to 40 artists will be selected to exhibit in the space.
