Metamorphosis: The Art of Transformation

About this exhibit: How does the art we create reflect our own personal growth? As artists and individuals, we are in a constant state of transformation. Our lives continue to shift and evolve with every season, and the work we make tends to mirror these changes. For many of us, our art is a reflection of the lives we live, and often serves as a deeper extension of ourselves. Through art, we are able to visually communicate our transformative states of being. For this exhibit, we are seeking work that reflects personal growth and evolution across a wide range of visual mediums.

Deadline: August 14, 2021

We welcome artists of all backgrounds and experience levels to submit to this opportunity. Artists must be 18 or older to submit.

Making Our History: Artists Render Lincoln’s Legacy

The Center for Lincoln Studies (CLS) and Visual Arts at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) invite applications for an innovative remote artist-in-residency program focusing on the legacies of Abraham Lincoln. Twenty artists will be selected from throughout the state to participate in the residency during the 2021-2022 academic year. They will learn and think about Lincoln’s varied legacies in monthly meetings with each other and with faculty from Visual Arts and CLS; they will also present and discuss their art in-progress at several of the meetings. Each artist’s object will be to create art that stimulates conversation about the American past.

The R.E.A.L.M.S. institute

Wicked Amusements is calling all visual and installation artists to participate in their newest project, The REALMS Institute - an immersive art and recreation experience with rotating exhibits/adventures that will be part of Malden’s nascent Gaming District.

Our initial installment will be an interpretation of the mini-golf model, so we are looking for proposals with amazing designs and sculptural elements that can serve either as full golf holes themselves or as part of the broader scenic ambience. Creators with experience working in large scale and kinetics are particularly encouraged to respond.

Proposals will be accepted on a bid/commision basis, so you have a hand in determining your compensation.
