What is necessary to know about permissions, promotion, funding and more…to make a successful event.

27.09 – 18.10.2021

Deadline: 15 September 2021

The Venice Biennale is a large-scale international contemporary art exhibition. In early May, thousands of art-world denizens descend in the city for the opening of a new edition of the Biennale, the closely watched pageant of contemporary art that has been running—with a few interruptions—since 1895. The Biennale is arguably the most prestigious exhibition in the world, filled with history and also cloaked in myth.

The preview days brings 25,000 artists, collectors, curators, museum directors and journalists into the city, followed by 600,000 visitors in the six months after. For this reason it is extremely important to know how everything works.

Session 1.

What is the Venice Biennale and why everybody wants to be present. Identification of the keys points that all participants need to know before facing such import event.

Session 2.

First step the location. How to find the ideal location. Even though the city is small, for the Venice Biennale you need to be in a good quarter. How to find the right location. Prices. The place makes the difference.

Session 3.

Step 2. What do you need to know about your location. The exhibition space is in the Arsenale? Inside of the Biennale? Then is very important to know which are the rules to respect, the permissions you need and the best suppliers you can get.

Session 4.

Organizing your event in a place located in the city: the things changes and there are other permissions you need to provide, rules to respect, and of course the suppliers.

Session 5.

How to promote an event during the Biennale: this is the most intensive period and a part for the main exhibition organized by the Biennale, you have at least 300 more competitors. In the city during the Venice Biennale there almost 500 of shows, events and projects. Timing and strategies is a key point in order to have a successful event.

Session 6.

Collateral events can be a good strategy to keep and attract the attention on your initiative. When is a collateral program useful for the promotion of your show and how should it work: dinners, parties, conference, workshop and presentation.

Session 7.

Your event needs more money! How do you identify possible sponsors. Which is the best strategy to approach a potential client for your initiative.

Session 8.

What can you do for your supporters. The Venice Biennale is an exclusive way to say thank you.

Session 9.

Venice is a tough city! No cars, therefore transports are only on boats. All about logistic: transports and suppliers. Taxi and restaurants. Hotels and flats. When you should start booking and arranging all these fundamental matters.

Session 10.

What you should not do at the Venice Biennale. Some key scenarios which should absolutely avoided.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
BORDERS 2021 | FUTURE LANDSCAPES
Venice International Art Fair
Deadline: July 25, 2021

ITSLIQUID Group, in collaboration with Venice Events and ACIT Venice – Italian-German Cultural Association, is pleased to announce the open call for FUTURE LANDSCAPES, third appointment of BORDERS – Venice International Art Fair, that will be held in Venice, at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space from August 30 to September 19, 2021, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello from August 31 to September 19, 2021 and in other prestigious venues and historical buildings.

BORDERS ART FAIR, curated by Arch. Luca Curci, will be presented in Venice at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space, at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello and in other prestigious venues between June 14 and September 19, 2021, during the 17th Venice Biennale.

The festival focuses on the concept of “borders”, between the soul and the body, the human being and the city, the city and the ground. The festival analyzes the idea of human and urban borders, how people live them and how they are modified in contemporary society. Every human being lives in a world in which the limits, the borders, shape their attitudes and behaviors, limiting the freedom and creating a sense of alienation. The human being reacts breaking the limits and finding a new way of life. We imagine a world of “liquid cities”, where differences create new possibilities instead of being social barriers.

Human creativity always spreads all over the world. For thousands of years we have applied our imagination and inventiveness to shape our landscapes. Cities are leading to a new aesthetic change that aims to rebalance the combination of humans and nature, not only to restore natural systems and ecological integrity but also to deliver beautiful, engaging and remarkable landscape experiences. Today we face many challenges that require a big effort in mixing new frontiers to create new extraordinary places and spaces. We aim to generate future landscapes without mental and physical borders, in which the human being is completely free.

BORDERS ART FAIR consists of 3 main events: BODIES+CITIES SKIN (June / July), FRAGMENTED IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES. We are now selecting artists for:

– FRAGMENTED IDENTITIES from July 12 to August 01, 2021 at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space and from July 13 to August 01, 2021 at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello
Deadline for applications is June 30, 2021 (11.59 PM of your local time)

– FUTURE LANDSCAPES from August 30 to September 19, 2021 at THE ROOM Contemporary Art Space and from August 31 to September 19, 2021 at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello
Deadline for applications is July 25, 2021 (11.59 PM of your local time)

To take part in the selection, send your works’ submissions with a CV/biography, some still images (for video-art), links of videos/films/performances and pictures of artworks by e-mail to director@itsliquid.com or fill the form in the dedicated web page: https://www.itsliquid.com/call-futurelandscapes2021.html

The festival also aims to discover the interpretations of borders between built and unbuilt geographical contexts, the complex spatial mechanisms within contemporary cities and territories, to understand these underlying cultural philosophical, political and aesthetic value systems that influence the production of architectural form. The investigation concerns not just territories’ borders: the festival focuses on the design and the construction strategies applied to the contemporary “skin and bones” architecture, on the thin surface that divides and connects the inner places with the outer spaces, from the single buildings to the huge metropolis’ borderline.

Deadline for applications July 25, 2021 (11.59 PM of your local time).
