KPC Workshop! *Performing Artists, Ages 15-19*

Katharine Pettit Creative - KPC offers a week long workshop focused on building character, technique and drive in performing artists between the ages of 15 to 19 years of age.

***Some dance experience required: All class levels will range from Advanced Beginner to Intermediate/Advanced***

Monday July 22nd through Saturday July 27th classes will be from NOON to 4PM, including musical theatre movement, jazz, modern and acrobatic dance classes.

Each student will learn several pieces from KPC repertoire to be shared in the end of the workshop showing, Saturday July 27th at 4:30PM, friends and family invited.

APPLY FOR Your Move Modern Dance Festival 2019: Now accepting Submissions
Your Move's 2019 season will be held at The Loew's Theater in Jersey City: November 13th through November 17th 2019. Selected choreographers will receive a $100 stipend, photos of their performance and two performance slots over the four shows. Applications are due no later than June 9, 2019 by midnight EST and cost $20. Late submissions will be accepted until June 14, 2019 by midnight EST for a fee of $30. Accepted choreographers will be notified by early-July. Choreographers are invited to submit one movement-based piece (no more than 10 minutes in length) for consideration.

As the 50th anniversary of Stonewall approaches, El Sotano Art Space invites New York based dancers to submit work to this open call. We are looking for work that enacts a revolutions through movement and corporality.

 

Considering the first terrain that we inhabit to be our bodies and from this point all actions that seek revolution and to revolt part from. Thinking of the body as a place where one inhabits and insurrection permeates, the body acts as a terrain where resistance leaves its mark.
