Art + Critique: Critical & Contextual Studies in Art Practice ONLINE

Combined critical studies and studio practice course that integrates practice and theory in a comprehensive programme of lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials and off-site visits.

The course will help you develop your practice and research and provide you with a solid background in the histories and discourses of contemporary art. The lectures survey the histories and discourses of contemporary art, demystify the art world and provide multiple entry points into critical theory. The programme fosters collaborative study and provides practical tools in group feedback sessions and workshops on creative practice, research and writing.

Children’s Art Week 2020: Grants for organisations

Children's Art Week 2020: 29 June – 19 July 2020   

Children’s Art Week is a UK-wide programme run by Engage, the National Association for Gallery Education.   

In 2020, Children’s Art Week will take place online, at home and in schools across three weeks in June and July. Each week will focus on a special theme.

Creativity in Quarantine: Virtual Collage Workshop and Online Exhibition!

The Living Gallery in Brooklyn, New York, has partnered with artist and educator Meagan J. Meehan to host a one-hour long collage Zoom class on Thursday, May 7th, 2020, at 6pm to 7pm EST (aka New York time). The class will run for one hour and is open to anyone who is interested in learning collage, regardless of their experience or skill level. Several different techniques will be discussed. After particiapnt's who attended the class complete their collages, their art will be displayed via an online exhibiton courtesy of The Living Gallery's official website. 

Mortem: Death research for artists

Mortem is a residency for artists interested in death to explore the concept from many points of view and to meet the people who work with death regularly. The residency will facilitate daily excursions led by deathcare workers, historians, artists, curators and biologists.

Submerge

Aquatic wildlife and human relationships with watersheds

Submerge is a research residency for artists interested in water. The week long residency will facilitate 12 – 15 workshops, lectures and excursions lead by scientists and ecologists who work with water.

The program will focus on biodiversity and ecology but also feature lessons on history, infrastructure and physics.

Visit the Hogs Back Lock keeper and learn about how the canal works.

Visit the Water & Ice Research Laboratory to learn about diatoms, freshwater microbes and microplastics.
