Open call '19

Do you want the chance of getting your short film shown at the Copenhagen Short Film Festival? Submit your short film to Copenhagen Short Film Festival 2019 today. All genres can be submitted, however your short film can not have a running time longer than 30 min. and should have been finalised in 2018 or 2019.

RECOLLECTION / EXTRACTION / REUSE

This artist residency aims to look closely to art practice and theory  as events that not only occur in galleries, museums or any other exhibition space, rather on the street, on the roads we commute every day and even where we live. That is why we will be looking to the relationship of space, the rural and our environment through our different perspectives, so we recognize and experiment with the new terrain thus to develop a critic relations as sensible with it.
We will look at different art pieces and art practices, we will also do an excersice of Recollection / Extraction / and Reuse on site, to finally create and purpose a collective piece on site.

Paadmaan Video Event

 

Paadmaan Video Event is an international video event born in Tehran, Iran, seeking to explore video documentations of recent interdisciplinary works of art (e.g. installation, performance, new media). Organized by Paadmaan Projects, the Video Event considers ‘video’ as its central theme.

The event emphasizes on video in the context of the art documentation, while addressing the challenges embedded within the so-called ‘documentation’ of interdisciplinary art works. Priority is given to works of art that portray these kinds of challenges, from the lens of the artist with attention to the artistic decisions made during the process of the documentation.

Assembly - Feature Documentary Development Lab Deadline. £10,000 Funding.

Assembly is a new development lab for creative documentaries which will take place in September 2019, organised by Open City Documentary Festival.

The programme is a project-based intensive workshop for international filmmakers working on their first or second feature. Participants from six selected projects will attend a four-day programme in London with talks, workshops and one-to-one mentoring followed by a closed pitch for £10,000 development funding. Participants will also be able to attend screenings, talks and networking events as part of Open City Documentary Festival 2019.

Deadline for Submissions: Open City Documentary Festival 2019

Submissions for Open City Documentary Festival 2019 are now open. We're looking for the most exciting and innovative non-fiction storytelling in short, mid-length and feature length documentaries, short audio documentaries, as well as cross-media projects (VR/AR/XR).

Open City Documentary Festival creates an open space in London to nurture and champion the art of creative documentary and non-fiction filmmakers, and over 4,000 people attended last year's festival to enjoy some of the very best in contemporary and international documentary.

Prizes are awarded in three categories: Open City Award, Best Emerging International Filmmaker Award, and Best UK Short Award (supported by the British Council).
