creatures magazine is now taking submissions for our upcoming sixth issue on the theme of :community. The submissions window is open until October 15, 11.59 PM CET.

We’re looking for poems, short fiction and essays, photography, illustration, artwork, videos… and possibly more – surprise us.

OPEN CALL: The Purposeful Mayonnaise Issue 3

The Purposeful Mayonnaise is a 2-in-1 literary & art platform-journal aiming to showcase writers and artists around the world.

Submissions for Issue 3 (online journal): 

We are looking for poetry, short stories, essays, visual art.

Theme: For this issue, we would like to go loosely in the direction of IMPRESSION. We leave this completely open to your interpretation. Submissions are free and open to artists and writers internationally.  

Deadline: September 30, 2021.

We will reply to all submissions during the second week of October 2021.  Issue 3 is scheduled for October 15.

| Theme:

Landscapes that we see with our eyes or that we experience only in our minds. That we observe, create, nurture, replicate, analyze, destroy, resist, love. That we are born into, that we lose ourselves in, that we push away from. Share your perspective on literal or imagined landscapes and be a part of this unique collection.

| Eligible Submissions:

Entries may include 2- and 3-dimensional media, such as paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, installations, ceramics, jewelry, fabric, sculpture, photos of performance art, fiction, poetry, short stories and other written explorations (up to 1800 words). Submissions must be the original work of the applicant(s). Apply using the online form.

The Artists Spoken Word Competition

THE ARTISTS FORUM SPOKEN WORD COMPETITION, part of our juried arts programming, is open to poets seeking to gain exposure in the New York City and international arts and media market.

Its mission is to provide an accessible platform for creative writer/performers to present their best work for juried selection, increase artist communication and business contacts, provide career advancement opportunities, and publicly award the work and talents of creative artists.

Seeking Writers

Public Parking is currently seeking critical thinkers, attentive cultural observers, and meticulous point-makers to write for the publication. We are also seeking visual artists interested in using the publication as a testing space to write adjacent to, or discursively alongside their own or a peers studio practice.
