The exhibition opens the doors to photographers of all ages, at all points in their careers, as we seek to promote new ideas and talent.

Photo Construct

We are inviting 10 photographers to join us for 10 day workshop from 15th to 25th June 2019; living and working from our modest studio/house in Leh. We are looking for passionate people who use photography as a medium or a message for expression. We will be working closely with each participant in converting an artist concept into physical printed photobook. The workshop will start from the initial concept of converting it into a photo narrative, book designing and finally conclude into a printed photobook/Zine. The photographers can come with an empty palate and create works in Leh to make the photobook or come with an already existing body of photographic works.

Photography: Series and Repetition

Photography Series and Repetition
May 3, 2019 – June 1, 2019

This show seeks to exhibit the diverse and exciting ways that photographers use sequence and series in their work. Repetition and seriality are built into the every level of photography from the production process, to its aesthetic theory, to the real-life practice of taking pictures. Photographs are often seen as representations or repetitions of reality itself, all while photography itself shapes modern consciousness just as much as it re-creates it. Site:Brooklyn is looking for work that actively engages with all aspects of repetition and series in photography. This might include subject matter, formal qualities, method, presentation, and much else.

NYC4PA Call for Entry - TREES - 2019

TREES:

A tree grows in Brooklyn

Can't see the forest for the trees

Tangerine trees and marmalade skies

There are references to trees all around us - in music, literature, proverbs, etc. But they are also an iconic visual.

Trees make up forests and jungles. They stand alone on hillsides creating lovely shadows. They can be tall and straight like a winter pine or bend in the wind. Limbs and branches create wonderful patterns against the sky. A tree will shade a child on a hot day; provide a sturdy posts to tie up the pet dog or hold a hammock off the ground, as well as support a backyard laundry line.

Send us your images of trees as you experience them – forests, single trees, branches, roots….

NYC4PA Call for Entry - MOMENTUM 2019

MOMENTUM:

Though a photograph is a snapshot in time, the world around us is in constant motion. This call is not about "still life", "landscape", or "posed portrait" images. It is about how you capture the idea of motion/momentum in a single frame; photographs that clearly send a message to the viewer that the subject or the camera/lens is moving.  Is the position of the subject the indication - a wave arched to crash, or a ballerina in mid air? Or is it the subject or background blurred as in a speeding train you have panned with background buildings a blur?
