Calling early career artists and collectives!

We are now accepting proposals for exhibitions at Orleans House Gallery.

Our Emerging Artists programme (September 2023 – June 2024) is for those establishing a career, focussing on creatives within the first 10 years of their practice. Through this programme we want to understand how we can support artists in sustaining themselves in the early stages of their work.

All propositions are welcome, across visual and contemporary arts.  For this year’s programme there is a fee of £1000 to support artists in developing necessary documents for the exhibition, site visits, and install and de-install days. There is also a production support budget of £500.

OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS // On-site Program

Taking part in a Residency at GlogauAIR in Berlin artists with diverse social and geographical backgrounds, will receive curatorial support, technical support and develop their work in a dynamic community. This year, Volume 3 will explore the theme of memory with Issue 3 seeking work that explores memories, moments, and experiences of being an adult. Themes include family, friendships, and parenthood; advice you would give to your younger self; physical or emotional experiences; reflecting on generational experiences such as disco or bedazzled phone cases.

Photosynthesis Magazine Issue 2: Terrorism

Photosynthesis Magazine is holding an open call for our second issue to be released in September 2023. The theme for our second issue will be "Terrorism".

In the United States, the month of September is a month of remembrance for the terrorist attacks that happened on 9/11, 2001. This act of terrorism has become synonymous with the word in the US, sometimes even making other acts of terrorism seem "less than" to citizens. This is absolutely due to the severity of what happened on 9/11. Regardless, Photosynthesis Magazine wanted to use issue #2 to provoke viewers to question their own perceptions of Terrorism including domestic terrorism - not to be confused with domestic abuse.
