Bio:

Always fascinated by the visual arts, Chiara has been approaching photography since 2009, when at the age of 17 she begins to use the darkroom set up in her school.
In 2012 she decided to move to Berlin to study at the Neue schule fuer Fotografie where she gets her diploma in 2016.
During those years in Berlin, her artistic research looks at the female body, its definition and the meaning attributed to it in the social and cultural field, research that today represents the fulcrum of De Maria’s aesthetics.
Specialized in analogue techniques, in the last 4 years she also approaches video and collage.
Returned to Italy, in 2018 she obtained a biennial diploma at the prestigious Master of High Education on the Contemporary Image of Fondazione Fotografia Modena.
In addition to being one of the creative forces behind The tuscan House of Photography, De Maria currently works at  the educational department of Fondazione Modena Arti Visive, as a freelance photographer and videomaker and as Video Professor at the Master of High Education on the Contemporary Image, FMAV.
