The Current Practice in Printmaking

Site:Brooklyn is located in the heart of the Gowanus Arts district and is a gallery dedicated to exhibiting a wide range of mid career and emerging artists. This is the 2nd Annual Hand Pulled Prints Juried Exhibit.

This is an international open call to artists to exhibit prints at Site:Brooklyn.  The exhibition will highlight the innovative, ambitious and contemporary in printmaking today. The exhibit will focus on traditional printmaking processes in any combination of serigraphy, collagraphy, letterpress, woodcut, etching, lithography, linocut, drypoint, mezzotint, monoprint and solar plates. Photographic and digital elements may only be used as a supporting element.

THE JUROR: Kathy Caraccio, a Master Printmaker for 39 years has used traditional and non-traditional approaches to printmaking. She has worked with many notable artists including Louise Nevelson, Romare Bearden, Emma Amos, Sol LeWitt, and Mel Bochner to name a few. She has had teaching positions at Columbia University, Parsons/New School, NYU, Pratt and is currently a printmaking professor at the National Academy. She is the founder K. Caraccio Printing Studio in NYC, whichi is a premier workshop for artists and is home to a collection of 4000 fine art prints and handmade books.
