The initiative consists of a physical exhibition that will take place on a six month or annual cycle within the 1010 Commonwealth Ave building. Artists have the opportunity to display their work throughout the five-story building. 

***Previously, artists were accepted for either the January-June or July-December cycles or for an annual show. Due to changes from COVID-19, we are pushing our deadlines for installs to Fall 2020. We still encourage you to apply!

We have reasonably priced are art studios available for rent in our art gallery.  These may be working artists studios or display spaces.  Cost is based on square footage priced at$1 per square foot.  All spaces are under $200 per month.

The Arts Council of York County is now accepting proposals for 2021 gallery exhibitions in the Dalton Gallery at the Center for the Arts. The Arts Council is a non-profit organization committed to creating and supporting a thriving arts community in York County, South Carolina. The Dalton Gallery, a professional gallery appropriated for the exhibition of experienced artists and community projects. The Dalton Gallery is an 1,800-square-foot space, illuminated by adjustable track lighting. 

Each year the Arts Council presents six to eight exhibits. Artists wishing to be considered as a solo or group exhibition for one of the Arts Council's 2021 gallery exhibitions, must submit the following to Mike Gentry, Gallery Manager, by 5 PM on Friday, April 3, 2020.

Juried Annually: First week in October

The submissions are reviewed by the GoggleWorks Exhibitions Committee consisting of 14 voting members and several advisors.

About Cohen Galleries:

Located on the first floor, the largest gallery in the GoggleWorks is divided into two distinct spaces and is capable of hosting either one major show or two separate exhibitions simultaneously. The West side of the gallery is approx. 2,700 sq. ft. and has a wood floor. The East side is approx. 3,100 sq. ft. and has a concrete floor. Both sides of the gallery feature movable walls that are 4ft. wide and 8ft. high, large windows for natural light, and adjustable track lights.

Submission Guidelines: Any artist interested in exhibiting in the Cohen Gallery should submit a proposal for consideration. Please submit the following items:

* Summary of theme or idea for the exhibition (1 page or less)

* portfolio of 15-20 images

* Artist bio/CV or organization mission statement

Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness and Lighting Ceremony
Call For Artists
When:  November 16, 2019 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm
Where:  2 Main Street, Sayville NY 11782- THORNHILLS BUILDING

• Call for artists to showcase their art for a local fundraiser. A one-night fundraiser where a portion of the art sale proceeds will go to
The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center, Stony Brook, NY 11790.
• Special attention given for Long Island artists who’ve been affected by breast cancer that would like to help families and communities understand the impact of breast cancer.
• Additionally, opencall extended to Long Island and NYC artists interested in this one-night exhibit in Sayville.
• Deadline for entries is Sunday, November 3rd, 2019. Artists must be able to transport and pick up unsold artwork to the gallery space in Sayville independently.
• Lighting ceremony accompanies the fundraiser, lighting the iconic neon Thornhill’s Pharmacy sign for the first time nearly 70 years. The Thornhill’s Pharmacy building has been renovated and will host the fundraiser.
