Women United ART MOVEMENT, a global platform highlighting women in the arts through diverse opportunities, is excited to announce the launch of Women United ART PRIZE 2022!

 

Building on last year’s highly successful art prize, we are presenting four categories in 2022:

PAINTING/DRAWING

PHOTOGRAPHY/PRINTMAKING

DIGITAL ART

COLLAGE/FIBER ART

 

The prize is open to all women artists including non-binary and trans creatives regardless of their education, age, sexual orientation, race and location. We especially encourage women artists of colour to apply. Artists are advised to select a category that best represents their work.

YICCA 21/22 - International Contest of Contemporary Art

The competition’s aim is to promote the enrolled artists, giving them chance to join the international market of contemporary art.

 

Internationality and networking make YICCA a huge opportunity for the artists, which can: 

 

• Win a cash prize:

- Euro 3000,00 money prize to the first selected

- Euro 1000,00 money prize to the second selected 

• Promote their art through a variety of channels:

- exhibit the selected artworks in an exhibition space, determined by competition.

- improve the relationship between finalists and critics, curators, gallery owners, public and private art institutions that will have access to this important exhibition.

- have maximum visibility through the advertising campaign that will follow the competition and all its stages.

The jury’s final decision will lead to a selection of 18 artists that will participate in the final exhibition. 

All kinds of artworks are accepted, including video, installations and performances. 

All works will be presented by a picture or a video that must be followed by a description of the work. 

All works must be available for the final exhibition and have to be the artist’s property. 

The contest is open to all artists or groups of artists and professionals from any country. 

There are no special qualifications required for entry.

The Foundation 

 

The Luciana Matalon Foundation was established in the year 2000. Inspired by Luciana Matalon, the foundation was created to provide an international space for innovative ideas and to create an opportunity of artistic visual, emotional and mental enrichment. 

In its headquarters, the foundation hosts historical and contemporary exhibitions of paintings, sculpture and photography. 

It also organizes meetings, conferences and cultural events such as; book fairs, chamber music concerts and theatrical performances. 

In recent years, the Luciana Matalon foundation has built relationships with the East, by welcoming exhibition projects from Japan (Tokyo & Yokohama), Korea and China (Hong Kong) by promoting its exhibitions. 

The museum area also guarantees a space-time continuity of the work of Luciana Matalon (a multifaceted artist, painter, sculptor & jewelry maker). A complete documents’ archive which dates more than 50 years of Activity in America, Europe and Japan is also available. 

The museum itself is a work of artfully designed by the artist, its main characteristic is the flooring which consists of a pictorial intervention that uses resins and optical fibers that welcome the author’s reflections..

The Football Art Prize Now Is Calling for Entries

The Football Art Prize is a brand-new exhibition opportunity celebrating art and football, and giving artists from around the world the chance to show their work to a prestigious panel of judges, including artists, curators and football players; exhibit on a tour to three venues, Touchstones Rochdale, Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery and Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens and win £10,000 in cash and purchase prizes – with more awards to be announced shortly. 

The shortlist will be selected by a judging panel including: David James, footballer; Jo Cunningham, curator; Kirstie Hamilton, curator; Mark Doyle, curator; Mark Wallinger, artist; Sacha Craddock, writer, critic, broadcaster

Artists may submit up to four works at £10 for the first entry and £5 for each additional entry. Artists entering from a Rochdale, Sheffield or Sunderland postcode will have a reduced fee of £7.50 for the first entry.

Ruth Borchard Self Portrait Prize 2021

Eligibility:

The Ruth Borchard Collection invites all artists to enter the Self Portrait Prize to celebrate the practice of self portraiture.

There are no restrictions on size or media and no expected form or style. The only requirement is that the work must be a self portrait. Historically entries have included both abstract and figurative works, the topic of self approached in isolation or in a group and via a range of media; including but not exclusive to, painting, drawing, digital art, textiles, sculpture, photography, ceramics and collage. 

Our panel of prestigious judges is as follows: Will Gompertz (BBC Chief Arts Editor), Sir Ian Blatchford (Chief Executive and Director of the Science Museum Group), Victoria Miro (prominent international Gallerist), Dame Justice Cheema-Grubb (an honorary member of the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court Justice Systems), Kate Bryan (art presenter and curator) and 2019 winner, artist and curator David Dawson. A member of the Borchard family will also be present and together the judges will select a winner of the £10,000 prize.

The longlisted works will gain international exposure through inclusion in a dedicated online exhibition that will be shared and promoted across major art selling platforms. A selection of works from the longlist will be acquired for the Collection. A shortlist of works will be selected for a curated exhibition at Coventry Cathedral. The exhibition is due to open in May 2021 alongside the opening celebrations of Coventry UK City of Culture.

Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize 2021

The seventh year of the internationally successful Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize is open for entries! The prize is open to artists working across all genres, styles and backgrounds.

ArtConnect x Modulor Open Call | Material Hybdrids

OPEN CALL FOR ART STUDENTS

Show us projects that combine different materials in unique and interesting ways. Win prizes from Modulor to choose from their huge selection of professional art supplies and get featured in ArtConnect’s Magazine as well as Modulor’s own magazine for creatives.

How do materials inspire you and enter into your artistic process? What combinations of materials excite you? Show us projects that you think combine materials in fascinating ways.

This open call is created especially with the new school year in mind and is open to students registered at art schools in Europe. Projects may be either digital or analog as long as they incorporate and highlight at least two materials in combination or juxtaposition.

We want to make it possible for you to take some risks and experiment with new materials and that’s why we developed this open call together with Modulor.

REQUIREMENTS

*Currently enrolled as a student in a fine art program in Europe
*An up-to-date ArtConnect artist profile
*Publish the work as a Project on ArtConnect with max. 10 images or one audiovisual sample (max duration 5 min.)
*Describe how this project is related to the theme of material hybrids.
