Queer Men Artist Lab: New Orleans 2024

Kolaj Institute and Kasini House’s Art Meets History project are organizing a Queer Men Artist Lab: New Orleans, 27-30 August 2024.

Deadline to Apply: Sunday, 28 July 2024

The goal of the Queer Men Artist Lab: New Orleans is to equip artists with tools and strategies for picking up the unfinished work of history and speak to contemporary civic discourse around social, economic, and environmental issues. Through interactive sessions in the Lab and panel discussions, artists will explore their process and practice; present a slideshow of their work; receive supportive, critical, curatorial feedback about their ideas; and discuss contemporary issues.

A Corpo Libero

“L'Intreccio Viola”, association based in Turin, promoting mental health, sexual well-being and the arts through cultural events and initiatives, opens a call for artists residing in Italy or abroad to the creation of a collective exhibition in spring 2024 entitled A Corpo Libero.

From pathologization to gender issues through collective perception, bodies are always public: from this reflection arises the need to investigate the practices of self-determination that allow us to reclaim our bodies and our images, in a context that encourage conformity, against the concepts of care and healing that are close to queer transfeminist movements in every part of the world.

Intersectional 5.0

prideART Berlin e.V. is hosting our 5th annual pride-month exhibition Intersectional. Intersectionality in our context relates to giving a platform to LGBTQIA+ artists from all backgrounds an opportunity to show their work as part of a group exhibition. We seek artists who create visual art in all media types and from various social, economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Our only pre-requisite for inclusion in the exhibition is that the artists identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, the work does not necessarily need to have an LGBTQIA+ social commentary theme.

Queer Conscience 2023 Photography Exhibition

Juried by: Kari Orvik, Nathan Lomas, and The Image Flow

The Image Flow invites artists closely tied to the LGBTQIA2+ community to submit work to our juried photography exhibition Queer Conscience 2023.

What could you do with a clear conscience? Who could you be? How could you live, free of judgment, shame, expectation, or fear?

The queer experience is unlike any other, and even within our vibrant community, no two queer identities are quite alike. This is what has the power to unite us; a respect for our differences that can create bonds like family. Living as a queer person can be complex, and frightening, and beautiful all at once.
