MESSUMS 4X20 Emerging Choreography Platform

4X20 is a choreographic platform supporting emerging choreographers, founded by Messums Wiltshire in 2022.
The organisation provides two emerging choreographers with a commission and support to re-rehearse an existing piece and develop a second one, all to be presented at the Festival of Dance in 2023. In addition, the award provides access to support networks, crucial for sustainable future careers of the artists.

Banff Artist in Residence Spring 2023

Overview

The Banff Artist in Residence program is designed for visual artists to focus on their practice in a supportive learning environment. Within this residency, you are encouraged to self-direct your research and time, as well as cultivate new directions in your work. Your artist in residence experience, is further supported through individual studio visits with guest faculty and dialogue amongst peers.

The program encourages experimentation and risk-taking via access to shared production facilities and knowledgeable staff who are available to provide technical support and assistance. In addition, you will have the opportunity to build connections, create networks, and share your work with other artists-in-residence and the public.

Banff Centre’s Graphic Novels and Visual Narratives residency considers how creatives use this unique media as a place for personal narrative, memoir, and exploration.

Open Space for March-April 2023. Artist Residency in Colombia

Announcing artist residencies designed for the reopening of Colombia; for visual artists, musicians, writers, architects, clay artists, performers, and other makers.
The artists in the ArteSumapaz AIR program are provided space in our hundred-year-old hacienda in which to live and work surrounded by 93 hectares of land in process of forestal restoration. The artists-in-residents may contribute to the alternative school projects by giving workshops, classes, “open crit” sessions (group discussions about art), or one-on-one discussions. 

Call for Exhibition Proposals 2023-24

CALL FOR EXHIBITION PROPOSALS.

The BVU Art Gallery accepts submissions for exhibitions from emerging and established artists in all media.   Proposals will be juried by the director and gallery committee.   Exhibitions have typically run for 5 weeks, but a range between 3 - 8 weeks in duration is possible.  

Exhibition Proposal should address the following:

1. A general explanation your proposed exhibition.  May include:   

2. Gallery is open during the academic year, from August to May.  Please specify your preference, if any, for which semester (autumn or spring) you would like to exhibit.   

3.  Does your proposal require any special installation needs or equipment?  

4.  A curriculum vitae or artist resumé.
