Following the success of the first Women and War Festival last July, we are delighted to announce Women and War: EXODUS, an interdisciplinary melting pot of talent from around the world.

EXODUS will focus on the stories of women who have been displaced as a result of conflict, once again from any continent and any period of history. We are looking for a diverse range of art examining this theme, including theatre, photography, film, art, poetry, music, crafts and cuisine

At the heart of this year’s Festival will be 8 theatre productions, for which submissions are now open!

We are interested in exploring the possibilities of all forms of theatrical expression, whether that be comedic, physical, drama, lyrical, mask, mime, musical, monologue, verbatim. We are especially looking for work that reflects the current global and domestic political situation, though that can be through the prism of history.

This July, we are proud to present EXODUS in conjunction with the East London Fringe Festival in a brand new 110-seat venue in Upton Park, Applecart Theatre, with which we are partnering for their inaugural year.

Over a month, we give you 8 performances of up to 75 mins, in a rep schedule. You receive 50% of the net box office, up to break-even and then you will receive 60%.

You will be expected to contribute £500 participation fee and £25 technical fee per show, which includes a 4 hour technical rehearsal. Our technical staff are fully trained stage managers and first-aiders, and should you need them in rehearsals, fees can be agreed. This works out at only £87.50 per show, with the potential to sell 880 tickets across your run.

Individual event fees will be calculated pro rata.

Deadline:
03/20/2017
Fee Detail:
£500 + £25/show technical fee
