Art on the Campus 2021

OVERVIEW

The West Des Moines Public Arts Advisory Commission and Parks and Recreation Department invite regional artists (Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Wisconsin, South Dakota) to submit an Artwork Application to participate in the 9th annual Art on the Campus public art exhibit. Art on the Campus is a temporary outdoor exhibit, displayed on the West Des Moines City/School Campus from April to November each year. 

EXHIBIT DETAILS

Selected artists are paid a $2,000 stipend for the use of their artwork. 

A selection panel will choose up to 12 original works of art for installation.

“Light Valley Junction” Public Art Statement

Historic Valley Junction is the gathering place that is the heart and soul of West Des Moines – a delightful mix of old and new, bridging generations with unique shops, vibrant events and a walkable hometown feel. Historic Valley Junction is West Des Moines’ original main street.

The Light Valley Junction Public Art Work Group wants to celebrate the past, present and future of this unique place through a public work of art. The Work Group wants every person who experiences this specific commissioned artwork to feel a sense of excitement and a connection to the community. The Work Group wants residents and visitors to be enticed to engage with the artwork and feel alive in its presence.

California Black Voices Project

Grant funding opportunity for Black artists or curators in California to create or curate artwork(s) for an exhibition at Minnesota Street Project.

Minnesota Street Project Foundation invites Black artists or curators in California to create original artwork(s) or an exhibition. The program’s vision is to recognize and reward the exceptional work of Black artists and curators in California. The five chosen grantees will receive $10,000 and be provided space at the 1275 Minnesota Street Project Galleries to feature their newly developed works. All work will also be presented on Adjacent, Minnesota Street Project’s newest virtual viewing space for art.

Open Calls for ATF Animation Pitch, Formats Pitch & Chinese Pitch 2020!

ATF presents various Pitch competitions that aim to bring the best out of Asian content makers, exposing these ideas for export and development within or outside of the region. Finalists stand a chance to win cash prizes to develop their winning concept or earn once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to have their script scouted and purchased. There are 3 main pitch programmes; ATF Chinese Pitch, ATF Animation Pitch and ATF Formats Pitch. All are open to individuals, students, freelancers and companies who have the idea and dare to dream big.

Submission is FREE. It is not required to be a registered attendee of ATF to enter this competition.

Virginia Artist 2020 Juried Exhibition

Online submissions for the Hampton Arts 2020 Virginia Artists Juried Exhibition at the Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center in Hampton, VA are now being accepted by all artists living or working in Virginia.

Sea of Change

The Virginia Beach Art Center invites you to submit to our a showcase of all media artwork from the Mid-Atlantic states.  There is beauty in all the waterways that surround us, but our climate is changing and perhaps our lives as well.   Artists from South Carolina to Pennsylvania celebrate our present and warn of our future.

The exhibition is juried by Gary Ryan, Executive Direcetor of the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, and features an award total of $2000! The opening reception is September 4th, 6-8 pm.
