Vogue Taiwan

Vogue Taiwan is published twelve times a year. Vogue Taiwan almost always uses Asian models, musicians, and thespians; as such, it only occasionally uses reprints from other magazines. From what I've seen of Leslie Kee, a prominant photographer for Taiwan Vogue, this edition of Vogue is full of energy and colour. Many of the fashion editorials are portrait-like, using multiple asian models in each sitting. Vogue Taiwan first issue commenced with October 1996 featuring Canadian Linda Evangelista; by 2000 they had begun to be more regionally representative.

Vogue Italia is the Italian edition of Vogue magazine. It is the least commercial of all editions of Vogue magazine and has been called the top fashion magazine in the world.

Its imagery is frequently shocking and provocative; according to the art director of British Vogue, its photographs "go beyond straight fashion to be about art and ideas".

Vogue Italia was established in 1964. Vogue Italia and the Italian fashion industry have historically had a symbiotic relationship, with Vogue Italia contributing to Milan's domination of the fashion world.

Recent influential editorials have included Steven Meisel's September 2006 "State of Emergency", a visual play on the War on Terror, and Meisel's July 2007 "Rehab", addressing recent celebrity visits to rehab clinics.

Italian Vogue is published monthly in Italy by Edizioni Conde Nast S.p.A. Franca Sozzani is and has been the editor since 1988. Italian Vogue often features up and coming models on their covers and has a mostly healthy attitude about aging, featuring models and celebrities of all ages. Italian Vogue has a consistency in mood gradation that I've not seen matched anywhere else...going from melancholy periods to joyously youthful features to overtly sexy.

Russian Vogue is published in Russia by Conde Nast. Originally published ten times a year, in 2002 it became a monthly. The editor-in-chief is Aliona Doletskaya and the art director is Brendan Parker. It is printed in the UK or Germany for export. Russian Vogue uses big-name photographers as well as Russians regularly in their visual editorial work. While the paper is of a better quality than American Vogue, the printing looks very similar, but at a higher resolution. Their covers are highly original and unlike any other on the market, with rather hard photography and close up shots that might not be considered cover material elsewhere. As a result, they stand out and are very lively and interesting. Well, judge for yourself! Most of the inside photo editorials are also very individual and stand on their own. However, every month they often feature at least one reprinted series that was used previously in other international Vogue's, especially the American edition. Advertising is minimal to good, with big advertisers like Gucci and Cerruti as well as many Russian cigarette ads. Vogue Russia began publishing with the September 1998 issue.

Fame was an American magazine founded in New York City in 1988. It focused on celebrity profiles, interviews and photos along with general-interest stories.

The magazine was owned by its publisher, Steven Greenberg, and edited by Gael Love, who had previously worked on Andy Warhol's Interview magazine. In 1989 Fame notably published an unauthorized index to The Andy Warhol Diaries, but was beaten to publication by Spy magazine, which released its own index a month earlier.

Fame was published for two years, with its final Winter 1991 issue released at the end of 1990.

Tint magazine is a quarterly global zine and independent magazine published in Detroit, Michigan. Though its motto "Celebrating Women of Every Color" targets all women, the magazine typically covers issues from the voices of women of color, and often from a politically left-wing perspective.

Tint began as a multicultural women's webzine, first published in 2004 by then college freshman Margarita L. Barry on the campus of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Created as a response to the lack of diverse faces and voices in mainstream women's publications, the first issue of Tint was launched in PDF format online that May. Barry never intended for the magazine to be a campus publication, though a misquote in the University's weekly newspaper, The BG News hinted otherwise.

Tint has been loosely linked to several subcultures and movements, including Transculturation, DIY Culture, Arts and Crafts Movement, Anarcho-punk, Afro-punk, Zine, Feminism, Black Feminism, Grassroots, and Activism.

To date, Tint has featured cover stories on a unique blend of women including actress/vocalist Alisa Reyes, actress/vocalist Persia White, and recording artist Goapele, all celebrities of multiethnic heritages with notable grassroots arts or activism involvement. In addition to celebrity interviews, Tint also regularly features stories on everyday women who are making their own individual impacts on the world. The publication maintains a small but relevant cross-cultural readership and following.

Tint is rumored to be taking a more local slant in the year 2007, incorporating both digital and print editions.
