Matters of the Heart

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, the month of February will be all about the heart.  Las Laguna Gallery proudly presents: Matters of the Heart. Just as discussion about the heart is a subjective matter, so too is the interpretation of the theme for our February show.
We are looking for works of art that not only evokes the various feelings of love (passion, affection, lust, tenderness, infatuation, etc.), but also can include literal images of hearts themselves.

We invite the artist to take a conceptual, literal or emotional approach on matters of the heart. In addition to portrayals of the heart, we ask, what do you love?

Encounter between traditional and contemporary art and craft practices

The Artpackers.life Residency Program is based on the idea of exploring and expressing the encounter between traditional and contemporary art and craft practices. It welcomes practitioners of all art forms (visual and performing), architecture and design, in an environment that provides time, space and inspiration.
Focused on experimentation, the principal mandate of this residency program is play – play with concepts, techniques, materials, colour etc. We encourage our artists to make mistakes, use this time to re-establish the link between imagination and actualization, and further develop their practices.

Function.Anomy

Intermission invites artists to engage with two diametrically opposed public and social contexts; the Reinickendorf Town Hall in Berlin, Germany, and the historical centre of Paduli, Italy.

With the call for the exhibition at the Reinickendorf Town Hall we challenge artists to intervene in a space that is defined by its function as a public institution.

Massa- call for papers and visual essays

Both origin and edge, beginning and end, ‘land’ can be seen as an abstraction on one hand, and as the most material of elements on the other. Its investigation requires a search for our origins, since land holds within it not only the ruins and memories of past cultures, but also the building materials of a future to come. As such, land allows more than a glimpse into the past, an observation into the present or a prediction of the future, but rather affords the examination of an the absolute edge, at the limit beyond which, and beyond land’s opaqueness, one cannot observe.

Open Theme

J. Mane Gallery invites submissions for its online juried art exhibition for the month of February 2019.

“An artist is typically a being thetas filled with so much passion, love, or pain for certain lands, people ideas or images that all they can do with that overflow is bleed it out by creating. And with this type of art, the energy will be shifted from the depths of them, and in to the depths of the audience to be felt. It is a dance. A transference. An intimacy. It is to touch and awaken another human a place they hadn’t known was aching, or sleeping. Both are opened. Both are nourished. Both are transformed.”~Victoria Erikson

This will be an “Open” (No Theme) Online Art Competition.
