Realism 2021 | Virtual Competition with Award Exhibition

Call to artists 18 years and older for our Realism 2021 Painting Competition. Photorealism, hyperrealism, surrealism, magical realism, traditional realism and metarealism. Artists should submit their best paintings in any subject matter. Current artwork please, created in the last 5 years. All traditional mediums allowed including oil, acrylic, gouache, watercolor, pastel, pencil, pen, scratchboard, charcoal & mixed media. No digital or photography. 

Artist's work is then juried and selected for a virtual online exhibition.  This is a competition, not all entries will be in the final exhibition.

Gold Award of Excellence
Sliver Awards - up to 12
Bronze Awards - based on number of entries

Our #1 priority is to promote your work!  We do not take a commission.  All inquiries we receive will be directed to the artist.

We are looking for artworks centered on the theme of the environment and the natural world, nature’s interconnected web and delicate balance. Artworks that raise awareness about environmental issues. Artworks that open our minds to philosophical ideas about our own connection to nature. Dacia Gallery is pleased to announce that we have a new location. We have moved from our original location for the past ten years in the Lower East Side, to the East Village of NYC on 11th Street and Ave. B. 

We are excited to share our new gallery space with you, and we will host our first group exhibition and celebration in the new gallery in April.

Dacia Gallery invites emerging and established artists to submit artwork for an opportunity to participate in our upcoming group show in the new gallery space. We are looking for a diverse body of artwork in all mediums and styles, this will be a mixed group show of recent artwork created by contemporary artists, exhibiting what they are working on today. The gallery will advertise and promote the selected artists for the exhibition and host a formal Opening Reception. If you are looking for gallery representation and to participate in an Art Show in New York City, submit your art that we may discover your compelling work and present it to the public, gallery directors, curators and collectors.

We're looking for writing and artwork of any format or medium that is shaped by your imagination. We believe experience-based perspectives, reflections, observations and personal stories deserve to be heard in any shape of art!

If you want your work to be presented, we need your works before going live and presenting any of your article, statement, interview and/or artworks (5 or 6 pieces) to be sent to us between 18.2.2021 and 15.03.2021.

You are welcome to submit works in any medium: painting, drawing, writing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, textile, installation, mixed media, digital, film (only jpg + link to video) etc. All visual art mediums are welcome.

Uncreatively Writing is an ongoing project between Igor Guedes and Uni So, in which certain parts of pre-existing digital texts are erased to create new meanings. Together, the artists use this method of writing to explore and suvery different social matters not limited to LGBTQI+, gender rights, and racial issues.

 

We are currently looking for a new text to work with that is less than 750 CHARACTERS.

 

The theme is open-ended but we are especially keen with social subjects. We often work with excerpts from literature, transcribed conversations, and even Whatsapp conversations. 

The selected text will be reinterpreted into two different versions by the Uncreatively Writing team, which will be uploaded on the instagram page as a triptych. And we also have a gift to send out to you: a custom made bag with the reinterpreted texts of your submission and a aprint out of the triptych.
