Seeking Art in Res Alpha Artists (NYC ONLY)

Art in Res is now accepting alpha artists for its 2019 Alpha.

Get art out of your studio and into the homes of potential buyers.

We are an invite only platform featuring a curated roster of NYC based artists.  Read below and apply

1. Upload your art.

Give your art exposure to new vetted collectors. Art in Res is a network of art enthusiasts.

2. Arrange a rental.

Collectors will send a rental request, and you get to choose the details, accept or reject.

3. Hand off / Studio visit.

Invite your new collector to see your space and get to know each other, or a simple hand-off.

4. Collectors can buy.

If the collector buys your work, you keep 100%. Since we get asked all the time: yes, we're serious.

Get paid for your art.

On Art in Res, collectors can request to borrow original works of art from NYC-based artists. If the collector doesn't buy your work, you get paid a rental fee. If the collector buys your work, you keep 100%. Since we get asked all the time: yes, we're serious.

Get $15 for each piece you rent, per month.

The platform for studio visits.

Art in Res want you to meet collectors who are passionate about your work. We think the studio visit is the perfect opportunity to do that. We are a platform for building offline collector-artist relationships, not just another impersonal online art marketplace.

Studio visits are a great way for collectors to learn about your work, your process, and see your work in the live, too. And by the way, if a collector happens to buy anything directly from you during a studio visit (either a work you listed on Art in Res or one you haven't), we think that's awesome. You don't have to tell us if that happens, but we'd love to hear about it!

Complete control for artists.

We are serious about artist autonomy. Want to sell your artwork under a pseudonym, or just use your initials? You can do that. Need a particular piece for an upcoming show? There's no obligation to accept a rental request.

Want to deliver your works? You set your own delivery fee, and keep 100% of that, too. Don't want to deliver your works? No problem.

This Way For The Future

Ben Summers

"This Way For The Future"

The Bernie Grant Arts Centre

October 1st - November 2nd

Private view:

Tuesday October 2nd

6:30 - 8:30 pm

As part of Bernie Grant Arts Centre’s ongoing exhibition programme, north London based painter and multimedia artist Ben Summers, presents a new exhibition throughout October. Developed over an entire year, the expanding collection of paintings are created using a collagic approach of gathering subject matter. Sketches of local and wider London life, periodic stills of the seasonal skylines over N15, live sittings with friends & the local community all morph into unique compositions.

The results in this body of work are both fascinating and dreamlike conjuring visions of everyday humanity in a state of flux - uncertain and hopeful in equal measure.

The inspiration ultimately stems from being immersed in both visual and music culture since a teen. After graduating from the Slade School of Art, Ben worked as a DJ for 6 years playing in London’s landmark nightlife institutions and immersing in himself in club culture.  This foundation has always provided somewhat of an orbit, whilst navigating the artworld and the inherent political discourse in producing work which is reflective of the times.
