CLIMATA: CAPTURING CHANGE AT A TIME OF ECOLOGICAL CRISIS

OPEN CALL DEADLINE // 20/01/20

RESIDENCY DATES // TWO OSLO BASED SESSIONS:

30/04 - 10/5/20

05/10 - 17/10/20

How much attention do you pay to surrounding soundscapes?

German sound artist Lasse-Marc Riek uses field recording to explore acoustic ecology, bio-acoustics and soundscapes. PRAKSIS’s 17th residency Climata takes its starting point from questions he addresses in his practice. They include:

What do climate soundscapes sound like; how, and where, do they occur?

What can sound tell us about how the world is changing and our future?

What effect do human-generated soundscapes have on biodiversity and climate?

In what ways can ecological change be represented to instigate meaningful change?

Artist to Artist: International Residency Host Members

Call out for Host Membership:

Art Science Exhibits Berlin launches an innovative residency program for professional Visual Artists, Curators, and Art Administrators, which includes stipends for Host Members worldwide.

As more artists enter the international artworld, more and more artists pay out of pocket for residency opportunities. With so many applications, even the best are denied. And the residencies that can offer you support, most often, can’t offer connections to regional artists, curators, or exhibition venues.

By providing this expanding network for members, and by keeping the money in the pockets of friendly artists, Art Science Exhibits presents the solution.
