MESH: A Juried National Exhibition

Pyramid Atlantic Art Center and partners announce MESH, a nationally open, competitive, juried exhibit.

The MESH Exhibit will be held from March 8-April 21, 2024, and hosted in the Helen C. Frederick Gallery at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.

Awards to recognize excellence among the entries include $1000 from Pyramid Atlantic Art Center for Best Overall Entry, $1000 from The Washington Print Club for Best Work on Paper, and $1000 from The Washington Print Foundation for Most Innovative Entry.

Fall/Winter Keyholder Residency @ Pyramid Atlantic

Pyramid Atlantic Art Center's Keyholder Residency is a competitive opportunity for emerging to mid-career artists who want to have unlimited access to the studios in exchange for working 4 hours a week for Pyramid Atlantic. The residency is awarded to artists who hope to gain more knowledge and improve their skills in the printmaking, papermaking, or book arts studios. Two artists are selected twice a year by the Pyramid Atlantic artistic staff. Keyholders work in a productive community atmosphere alongside other artists and are expected to abide by all studio policies. Housing is not provided, although, upon acceptance, artists will receive information on opportunities of nearby housing.

Fall Denbo Fellowship @ Pyramid Atlantic

The Denbo Fellowship is designed to offer artists, from a range of artistic disciplines, an environment conducive to individual and collaborative creative practice. This Fellowship will provide a unique opportunity to complete a new body of work at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.

Three artists will be selected for the Fall fellowship.

Selected artists will receive: -Up to one month of access to Pyramid's printshop, paper studio or bindery -Key to studios and 24-hour access -Ten hours of one-on-one technical assistance
-A locker and flat file for tools and materials -Use of standard shop supplies -A stipend for travel, materials, housing, etc. ($250 two weeks, $350 three weeks, or $500 one month)

Looks Good On Paper, National Paper Arts Exhibition

This juried exhibition will showcase diverse practices and concepts in paper arts including trends and advances in the art of hand papermaking, politics of paper/papermaking, and explorations of the materiality of paper itself.

LOCATION

Work will be exhibited in Pyramid Atlantic's Helen C. Frederick Gallery, August 19-October 2, 2022.

Denbo Fellowship

This Fellowship is designed to offer artists, from a range of artistic disciplines, an environment conducive to individual and collaborative creative practice, and provides a unique opportunity to complete a new body of work at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.

 

Selected artists will receive:

Up to one month of access to the printshop, typeshop, paper studio and/or bindery 

Key to studios and 24-hour access

Ten hours of one-on-one technical assistance 

A stipend for travel, materials, housing, etc. ($250 two weeks, $350 three weeks, or $500 one month)

Storage space and flat file for tools and materials

Use of standard shop supplies
