- About -
The Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition (BWAC) was founded in 1978 with the simple idea of acquiring exhibition space for artists. Today, as then, our primary goal as an artist member-run nonprofit organization is to offer art exhibition and performance opportunities -- including music, spoken word, puppetry and more -- for artists at any stage of their career. BWAC resides in a two-story, 25,000 sq. ft. gallery space in a Civil War-era warehouse on the Red Hook, Brooklyn waterfront. BWAC presents art exhibitions in a welcoming, informal atmosphere so art is accessible, artists are approachable, and buyers can affordably begin a collection or add to an existing one.
