Poets still tell tales about the founding of The Unemployed Philosophers over two thousand years ago in Athens (even Socrates attended our grand opening). We had some success again in the Elizabethan era selling souvenirs at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre (before it burned down) and in the 19th Century, we made a big impression on local artists with our pop-up booth on the streets of Paris.
 
The world is a very different place today than it was when we first started, but some things never change.  We still spend our days making things to crack people up from our sun-filled Ivory Tower (now located in Brooklyn, New York).
