Call to Artists: Collage in Practice Workshop

A three-week, virtual/online workshop with Kolaj Institute in July & August 2022
Deadline to apply: Sunday, July 17, 2022

The practice of collage takes on many forms. A practice will be shaped by the goals of the artist and what they want to achieve with their artwork. It will also be informed by the choice of material, scale, and subject matter. A collage practice is also informed by the history of artists who came before and how an artist chooses to be in dialogue or opposition with their creative ancestors. A working understanding of one’s practice is critical to one’s professional and artistic development.

“Art on Climate” International Illustration Competition

Organised by Fingertips Company Limited and sponsored by Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), “Art on Climate” is an international illustration competition held right across the world that aims to bring greater visibility to the issue of action against climate change.

The competition was first launched in Spain in 2019, and extended its footprint to the Asia-Pacific region in 2021, attracting over 1,300 artworks from more than 1,000 illustrators. In 2022, the competition’s footprint has been expanded to cover more regions, including various European countries, the US and more countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The competition provides a platform for illustrators and students to showcase their talents and skills.

Unplanned — Open Call, next issues

Unplanned is a printed periodical publication dedicated to the invisible, and so many times messy, work process developed from different interactions performed during the artistic creation process — between the studio (or home) and fieldwork; between the built city and the surrounding empty spaces, abandoned buildings, or vacant land; between the successes, difficulties, progresses and setbacks of the artistic process; between the unexpected directions arising from personal research motivations, collective discussions and/or different articulations and collaborations between disciplinary fields; or simply between restrictions and imagination.
