Make Art for Mumbai's Mangroves

The Ministry of Mumbai’s Magic calls on young Mumbaikars to use their creativity, collective power and digital skills to help protect Mumbai’s incredible biodiversity. Mumbai’s wetlands are crucial for the city’s survival and this is a step towards expanding the audience’s understanding of the issue. The city’s coastlines are cushioned by a mangrove cover of 66 square km that poses as a natural barrier against sea level rise and coastal flooding, while welcoming a wealth of migratory birds and aquatic species.

OPEN CALL for artwork around the theme "Pause" to be featured in digital publication

Not Selected At This Time is pleased to announce their first open call! Artists are invited to submit their visual work(s) around the theme of "pause."

Not Selected At This Time is a digital publication exhibiting work by visual artists who are underrepresented in the arts by traditional means. Because we believe class (and therefore white supremacy and patriarchy) should not determine an artist’s ability to exhibit, we vow to subscribe to a donation-based submission model, with no fees required by the artist at any point. We prioritize showcasing work by BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, sex worker, incarcerated, non binary and women artists. Due to the nature of our publication, video-based work is not accepted at this time. We look forward to seeing your work.

OPEN CALL 2021 - POLDRA - Public Sculpture Project Viseu

POLDRA – Public Sculpture Project Viseu promotes site-specific contemporary public art/art in Public Space. POLDRA seeks works that propose new interpretations of the sites and spaces as well as encourage interaction between the viewer and the sites themselves. Through this dynamic, the works of art aspire to initiate connections that exist beyond the primary act of looking.

We've been doing so for the past three years by exhibiting the works of Kiluanji Kia Henda (AO), Rui Sanches (PT), Miguel Palma (PT), Cristina Ataíde (PT), Neeraj Bhatia (CA), Pedro Pires (AO), Steven Barich (US), Elisa Balmaceda (CL), Kaitlin Ferguson (GB) & Natalia Bezerra (US), Liliana Velho (PT), Jazmin Charalambous (GB), e Signe Ferguson (US) & Thanasis Ilonomou (GR-CA).

A Voyage of Absurdity

EXTENDED DEADLINE : 3RD MAY 2021

There is this idea(l) of the artist creating art for art’s sake, living la vie bohème, being envied for their freedom and creativity and having the liberty to express their individuality as they please. Is this actually the case though?
