Shine Emerging Artist Programme

The SHINE programme aims to nurture and develop new talent, giving artists the opportunity to exhibit or perform new work at 5 of the LUTN festivals (Light Night Leeds, Lightwaves at Salford Quays, Enchanted Parks in Gateshead, Light Up Lancaster and LightPool in Blackpool). Up to four artists or collectives will be awarded bursaries of up to £4,000 each to realise their new artwork. The artwork has to be suitable for a winter light festival, artistically challenging/interesting and of high quality, have a strong element of digital/technology within its design, and be resilient enough to withstand the winter weather at multiple festivals (September - December) and transportation across our festival network.

Endless Possibilities – A Group Exhibition

The sky’s the limit! This month, we are looking for the artists’ favorite pieces - those that you are most proud of creating, or works that may not fit in our other themed shows. The possibilities are truly endless for this exhibition- it is a completely open call. Show us what you’re passionate about!

Las Laguna Gallery is now accepting submissions of original artwork in an Open Theme category. There are no restrictions on content, style, medium or context, your entries may be either traditional or digital.

2nd Annual Skies Art Competition

Fusion Art invites submissions for its 2nd Annual Skies art competition.

For this competition, both 2D & 3D artists, worldwide, are encouraged to submit their best art and photography depicting the sky. The sky is everything that lies above the surface of the Earth, including the atmosphere and outer space. The theme includes any depiction of the skies, including clouds, rainbows, aurorae, lightning, precipitation and storms, stars, planets, moon, celestial events, the night sky, the day sky, dusk and dawn - just as long as the sky is the primary focus.

A5 magazine wants to try and shine a light on some of the amazing artists working today. We are now taking entries for the July edition of the zine.

Surface Design Association Exhibition in Print

Family Matters: 2018 Surface Design Association Annual International Exhibition In Print 

This year’s theme, Family Matters, invites artists to submit work that engages the idea of ‘family’. How does the notion of family emerge in an artist’s work? 

Surface Design Journal welcomes work that embraces traditional 2D and 3D forms, while also seeking work that challenges and expands the contemporary definitions of textile/fiber-based art and design: digital art (design/animation), time-based arts (sound/video), performance art, conceptual art, land art, installation art, book arts, paper, basketry, textile design, wearables, fashion design, interior design, product de- sign, and craft-as-social-practice.
