a gallery of conversations - a solo exhibition by jdwoof

The Gallery of Conversations is a solo exhibition by Newham-based artist Jo Wood (aka jdwoof) to mark the completion of her 9-month residency at Applecart Arts.

The exhibition comprises a collection of paintings and drawings from Jo’s time at Applecart, drawn from stories and connections with the community in the historic Passmore Edwards building in East Ham.

Jo spent much of her time in residence painting and drawing conversations with a wide variety of people who work at or visit Applecart, as well as creating spontaneous pieces of art in response to the sights and sounds of the place.

This free exhibition runs from 6-12th July and features a collection of the original works created during her residency.

There is a free-to-attend private view event on the 6th July 2023 from 7 - 9.30 pm where you can come and view the collection for the first time, meet the artist, chat with other members of the community and take the opportunity to paint or draw.
