ArtGeminiPrize 2016

ArtGeminiPrize 2016 is now open for entries. It is an independent competition, open to all artists from anywhere in the world. Applicants must be aged 18 or over. The winners will be announced at an exhibition of the finalists’ works in London.

MEDIA
Painting including oil, mixed medium, acrylic, watercolour, drawing, ink, calligraphy and original print. Photography and digital art. Sculpture – maximum size 100 x 100 x 50cm.

AWARDS
£5000 cash prizes plus Exhibition at Asia House, London.

AWARD CATEGORIES
The winners will be announced by the judges at the finalists’ exhibition in London. A cash fund of £5000 will be awarded to the winners in four categories. The Public Choice Prize is open for voting by the public during the exhibition, and the winner will be announced at the close of the show.

Painting and Sculpture Prize: 1st prize £1500, 2nd prize £1000.
Photography Prize: 1st prize £1000, 2nd prize £750
Young Artist Prize (under 25 years): £250
Public Choice Prize: £500

JUDGES
The judges are looking for excellence in content, contemporary aesthetic, technique and material.

• Sajid Rizvi (London): Chair, ArtGemini Prize selection committee and judges’ panel, Founder Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, EAPGroup International Media.
• Pamela Kember-Tong (UK): Head of Arts & Learning at Asia House, London.
• Estelle Lovatt (UK): Art Critic and Art History Lecturer.
• Thorsten Overgaard: Danish photographer, writer and educator.

ENTRY FEE
1st entry £20
Up to 3 entries £45
and then £10 per additional entry.

APPLY ONLINE
You may enter up to six original works created in the last three years.

SALES
All works must be for sale at the exhibition, with prices set by the artist. The ArtGemini Prize will retain 45% of the selling price.

DATES
10 July 2016: Entries close
20 – 26 July 2016: Stage one selection (online) by judging panel.
4 August 2016: Announcement of shortlisted works.
21 Sept 2016: Stage two selection for winners by judging panel.
22 – 30 Sept 2016: Exhibition & Private View at Asia House, London
