Statement :

One day I had a couple of people in my studio (aka the living room). While one rummaged through my things, the other asked me what the end goal of my painting was? I answered simply “I don’t know.”

“I don’t know” is something I say a lot. Often it’s a true statement. Sometimes it just helps me avoid answering questions.

My acrylic paintings are usually abstract self-portraits. If you ask me anything about them or about painting specifically I may respond “I don’t know”.

Bubble
Acrylic self portrait from of a series called Tilt. Made during the Coronavirus lockdown. An expression of social distancing policies on the individual.
Up Down
Acrylic self portrait from of a series called Tilt. Made during the Coronavirus lockdown. A reflection of my fluctuating mood and mind set. I don't know if I'm wearing an ass hat or if I'm sitting on my head.
Haze
Acrylic self portrait from of a series called Tilt. Made during the Coronavirus lockdown. A display of my mental state. I never know what day it is.
Carry
Acrylic self portrait from of a series called Tilt. Made during the Coronavirus lockdown. A depiction of me either talking to myself or the little voice inside me. I don't know which one it is. Maybe both.
Neckhole
Acrylic self portrait from of a series called Tilt. Made during the Coronavirus lockdown. I don't know how to describe this one. Perhaps there's just a general feeling of disconnection.
