Dirty Dishes

The Art Vacancy (TAV) invites artists to submit proposals for Dirty Dishes, a conceptual art installation that delves into themes of domestic labor, emotional dynamics in modern day relationships, and interpersonal communication.

Project Concept: The exhibition will feature a large-scale sculpture depicting a towering pile of dirty dishes, symbolizing the often-overlooked aspects of domestic labor and the emotional undercurrents present in shared living spaces. The installation aims to prompt dialogue about empathy, responsibility, and the nuances of partnership.

Gene Carey Animal Shelter & Adoption Center Expansion Integrated Public Art, City of Lewisville, TX

The City of Lewisville, Texas is seeking qualifications from artists who wish to create a large-scale 3D work of art that can be integrated into an expansion being planned for the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center.

Specifically, the City seeks an artist, or artist team, who can create a unique large-scale 3D work of art that can be architecturally integrated into the publicly accessible areas included in the expansion, including but not limited to the outside elevation of the facility. The art should relate to animals that may be available or serviced at the facility. The art should reflect the playful nature and positive emotional connections between pets and humans. Artists with experience creating immersive and interactive concepts are encouraged to apply.

Vice & Virtue

The Annual Juried Regional Show is Art Center Sarasota’s largest and most prestigious juried exhibition, spanning all four of our galleries. This year, we invite artists to delve into the dualities of the human condition—Vice & Virtue.

By definition, vice represents behaviors deemed morally wrong by society, while virtue embodies excellence and integrity. But in today’s world, where do we draw the line? Through this theme, artists are challenged to explore the shifting boundaries of morality, shaped by cultural norms, religious beliefs, and political landscapes. What defines good and evil in contemporary society? And perhaps more intriguingly, does a gray area exist between them?
