Screen Printed Fabrics

A full day workshop on how to create your very own screen printed fabrics and turn them into a festive Christmas stocking.

The morning will be spent with Sarah practicing the art of paper stencil screen printing onto fabrics. After a well earned lunch break James will show you how to take your new fabrics and turn them into a Christmas stocking.

All materials will be provided, but please bring an apron! The inks don't come out of clothes.

Please follow this link for an idea of what we will be creating on the day!

Draw to Perform - Day of Alternative Drawing Workshops

The upcoming family workshop day by Draw to Perform will include four bookable workshops about drawing, provided by acclaimed artists and performers. The workshops will explore alternative ways to make marks, draw and express. These workshops will present different strategies for forming a dialogue between drawing, sound, movement, process and performance. Participants will draw live, share and discuss their outcomes and ideas. All workshops will target different groups and issues in contemporary drawing and will allow the general public the opportunity to experience an art form a first hand, work with and be tutored by some of the leading artists in their field.

Kahoon Projects: Paid Residencies

For its Spring 2019 programme, SET is partnering with Oxford Brookes University’s School of Arts in the launch of 'Kahoon Projects'.

As part of this project, we are offering paid residencies to a number of artists to explore the issue of class in contemporary society. The project aims specifically to develop the contemporary understanding of the term ‘working-class’, while also giving a platform to emerging contemporary artists from underprivileged backgrounds. Residents will therefore be asked to respond to the idea of a 21st century working-class.

DCAD presents first Distinguished Alumni Award to 2007 photography grad

Ann-Marie VanTassell, a professional photographer who owns and operates her own business in the Washington, D.C., area, has received the 2018 Delaware College of Distinguished Alumni Award, the first-ever such honor given by DCAD to one of its graduates.

VanTassell completed an associate of fine arts degree in photography at DCAD in 2007 and was selected to deliver the graduating student address at commencement. In addition to being a leader among DCAD’s photo majors, she had been one of the select students chosen to present at the annual DCAD Art History Symposium and earned the top overall grade-point average in her class. She later earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in photojournalism at the Corcoran College of Art + Design.
