Dear art friends and art lovers, We are printmaking lab team, the founders of the Art magazine. With this magazine we want artists from all over the world to show their art and give people the chance to know you and your story. Everyone is welcome: self-taught, beginners, emerging, mid-career, established, young, old.

Shadow and Light

Shadows and Light .

Black is symbolic in many cultures, expressing mystery, elegance, drama, even the great void. Whites and grays, conversely, are hopeful, bringing contrast and defining forms.

The absence of color allows us to better see the pictorial composition, and the arrangements and intensity of shadows and light can create a high contrast image or a dusky play of subtle grays. The lack of color concentrates our attention on the subject and the design.

Please submit your interpretation of this achromatic theme in any media such as photography, printmaking, pencil and charcoal, fiber, ceramic or mixed media.

 

Featured in the show is the art of local photographer Richard Hay Jr. with the debut of his series

Biodiversity Open Call Exhibition

Insecta Collective's international, biodiversity themed open call exhibition is open for submissions now. Enter your nature and climate themed artwork for a chance to be selected. Work will be exhibited virtually and in a physical location in Leicester city centre

Occhi Contemporary Call for Artists

Occhi Contemporary Art is a platform run by and for artists to introduce their work to the public and across the contemporary art community. LNR Open Call. Online exhibition

Most of the Kunstmatrix adopters were seen in 2020; indeed, the program dates back to around 2008. I began curating online only in 2020, during the first wave of COVID. Even though it now seems that everyone has returned to the physical again, for me this „new“ discovered love has remained – sitting a couple of evenings in my office, playing and thinking about online exhibition displays, giving a line to the selected paintings in the online architectures, highlighting, or even hiding artworks on digital walls. For 2023, we have decided to make an open call.
