Delight and Disruption: a juried call for photography

What delights you? How does disruption affect you? When are these words actions versus conditions? What sparks your curiosity about connecting them?

We welcome a variety of photographic expressions or representations of delight, disruption, or the intersection of these ideas—whether reflecting on recent events, communicating a personal response, or crafting imaginative or futuristic scenes. We are especially interested in unaltered snapshots. Non-professional artists are strongly encouraged to submit.

“Up Close and Personal” Juried Photography Show

Featuring macro-photography: close-ups of small subjects. Zoom in on those moments that often go overlooked and share with us a new perspective. Whatever subject you choose (droplets of rain, the texture of a stone path, pencil shavings, a spider’s web…), highlight those tiny, unexpected moments we might’ve otherwise missed.

**Artists will be notified by email of acceptance. Selected works will be displayed in-person at the OC Center for the Arts during the month of May.

Exhibit juror: Brook Hedge

Entry deadline: Monday April 5, 4pm EST.

Dates for hand-delivery of selected work: Sun. May 2- Mon. May 3, by appointment. Please see below for shipping information.

Exhibit dates: May 7-29, 2021

For this open call edition, the guest curator is Eliana Morte, an argentine photographer.

Media accepted: photography (black and white only)
No fees. Open to international artists.
Deadline to apply is May 2nd, 2021.
The selected artists will be informed by end of May, 2020. Only selected artists will be asked to send their images.
