Call for entries: Bridgeman Studio Award 2019

Launching on the 5th of October 2019 to celebrate Black History month in the UK and promoting the Art of Diversity, the international Bridgeman Studio Award is sponsored this year by Verizon Media.

Now in its 6th year, the Bridgeman Studio Award is the fastest growing contemporary art competition for artists, illustrators and fine art photographers.

This year’s prize: £5,000 cash commission for the design of a limited edition print and tote bag to be sold online on Artsy and in a London Gallery exhibition in 2020. There are 5 runner-up prizes worth £500 each. The runners up will also have the opportunity to exhibit their works in a London gallery. 50% of the sales of the limited edition prints will go towards the charity Mama Biashara.

The Brief – The Art of Diversity

We all have a story and a relationship to diversity and we want to hear it from emerging artists, through their eyes and their art. Art is, after all, a conversation between a creator andan audience, and we want to start this conversation.  Art influences our emotions andemotions are impacting behaviour. We want you to create and inspire change through your art.
