Light Residency

Phoenix Athens launches a new light residency programme for artists who wish to live in Athens. The light residency coincides with the Villa Exarcheia and is designed to help artists to develop their practice and conduct research in Athens. Living accommodation and use of a painting and sculpture workshop facility is provided for up to two months.

Summer Open Call 2019

Description:
Open Call for artists of visual arts, performance, drawing and
video to culminate in an exhibition of the work developed in this
residence programme.

After 10 days of work in studio the “Transparent Gravity” in col-
laboration with the artist will start the processe of preparation of

the exhibition and its catalogue.
A prize of € 1500 will be awarded to the selected artists for use
during the period of the residence programme, as a support for
materials, food and other costs. This value will not be subject to
any kind of return.

In case there are application processes above the expected num-
bers, with quality and relevance in the current artistic panorama,

Critical Moss -- making Art Work outside the metropolitan bubble

A play on words,artists may be as stones,rolling beyond their origins,beyond the buzz offered by art school crits,first nights, gallery visits. Isolated artists need methodologies to 'kickstart' a practice,absent a critical mass of fellow artists.This project is addressed to artists of any calling, who feel isolated ( geographically , culturally or sensory )

 

Day de Dada Conspirators

Performance Date and Time: Sat August 10, 2019 4-6pm

Venue: Le Petit Versailles, 346 East Houston Street, NYC

 “Day de Dada Conspirators” is an exploration of how the Dada art movement is relevant and inspirational to contemporary artists. Each performer will do a performance piece inspired by a Dada artist from the early 20th century. Performances will include readings / dance / movement / spoken word and some ongoing interactive actions.

Performance 10-15 minutes long or non-obtrusive durational pieces during the whole event.   
 
The performances will take place throughout the garden.  Keep in mind that there is no stage, dressing room, or place to plug in.  You must bring everything you need with you.  

 

2nd Circus Residency: The smallest circus convention in Brazil

The House of Sustainable Arts opens its doors for the Second Circus Residency in the style of "the smallest Circus Convention". We offer 5 days of artistic living and cultural exchange through workshops, classes, community shows and theatrical performances. The residency is an intimate meeting of circus artists in the many artistic languages of clowning, juggling, aerial arts, dance, sound and lighting, spoken word and musical performance. This annual residency is occurring for the second time from September 11-15, 2019 in the historic neighborhood of Dois de Julho, Salvador, Brazil. We invite all artists and collectives who identify with the Circus community to present a proposal for a workshop or an act to present during the residency.

International Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival 2019

Entry is open to all national and international quilters and fiber artists. There is no restriction as to when the piece was created. Pieces that have been on prior exhibit at the Museum or past Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Festivals are not eligible for entry.

Entrants may choose to have their piece judged or non-judged.  Judged pieces are eligible for awards (including three cash awards:  $500 each, Best in Show, People's Choice - Quilt, and People's Choice - Fiber Arts) and will receive judge’s feedback with return of item following festival.
