AADK Spain Open Call 2019: Landscape

AADK Spain invites all artists and researchers who wish to work on the topics of body, territory and spatiality to participate in its Artistic Residency Program. For this call, projects that respond to  the landscape will be prioritised. The Programme is carried out in Centro Negra, current headquarters of AADK Spain, located in the town of Blanca, Murcia. It is conceived of as a space for reflection and creative research that encourages its participants to interweave their projects with the historical, cultural and geographical context of the region.

Open Call: Landscape, AADK Spain

AADK Spain understands residency programs as contextualized spaces, where location models the practices on, and modifies both its participants and the local communities. Thus, our Artistic Residences are an interdisciplinary and socially committed program that offers its attendants a space for analysis and production. It aims to facilitate research in rural environments, highlighting the value of local knowledge as a mean to re-think how these locations can position themselves in an era of massive urbanization through a social, historical and geographical perspective. Throughout their stay participants conform a temporary community that shares experiences and processes, fostering debate and a transversal perspective of their projects.

THE WESTMORLAND LANDSCAPE PRIZE

The Westmorland Landscape Prize is a national call to artists who are inspired by our landscape. Conceived and developed by Westmorland, the Prize aims to document, celebrate and interrogate our relationship with the landscape. The selection panel will be looking for works which reach beyond the aesthetic, stimulating thinking and debate about the way in which we exist alongside, as part of, or sometimes in spite of our landscape.

RESIDENCY 108 spring session

Residency 108 invites emerging and established artists, writers and thinkers of all disciplines to immerse themselves in their creative practice. We particularly welcome those who work with nature, ecology and the installation of temporary outdoor land-art works. The residency is free apart from the cost of travel and material expenses which must be assumed by the individual.

Hannah Murgatroyd
